I am also pondering between a Corvette and GTR. However since I can afford neither it makes my pondering rather trivial.

Well, I gotta buy something to replace the 911 turbo!Originally Posted by Echonova

the 911Ts are awesome cars. Between the GTR and C6Z - it really depends on what your taste is. I very much respect the GTR but prefer the unapologetic brutishness of the C6.
I'd take a 911T over either personally. Do you have the 996?
This thread is starting to sound like something out of 6speedonline or CF more than IA...
Ahh, good ol' 6speedonline. I used to spend waayyyyy too much time there back when I had my turbo. I had a 996TT for almost 5 years, but sold it. It was a great car, but I'm looking to replace it. I'm in no hurry to make a snap decision, however. I've always had AWD, twin turbo vehicles. Common logic would dictate that I go with the GTR, but there is this itch for a RWD, V8 that is lightweight.Originally Posted by Atlblkz06

Then you can't go to porsche world because TPC is god over there. LOL
You know what esle is dropping like crazy the current 911 turbo. And the cayman.
But I think all in all, M3 Gpower Supercharger is your best bet. RWD V8 8500 600hp

I have also driven a C6 Z06.
The M3 isn't in the same league as the rest of these cars, it's just not. Way slower, softer, etc. A supercharger will give it more acceleration but it needs a lot more than that to keep pace with any of the above when going around a track.
The GTR is a monster. With the dual clutch gearbox there is no boost drop on shifts. It is one endless surge of acceleration and torque. I doubt it could keep pace with a Z06 but I destroyed a GT3 in a race from a slow roll. No surprise. The thing about the GTR is that besides the insane acceleration is is the equally insane braking and grip. It does everything fast.
The GT3 has the heaviest OEM clutch I've ever felt. Personally I love it but I could see how it would get to be really old as a daily driver. The GT3 also has perfect steering and pedal feel. Everything about it just feels good. It can't keep pace with the GTR in acceleration but it's not exactly slow - about 370rwhp stock. You have to rev the engine hard to get the most of it, just like the M3.
One thing I can't say enough is how radically different all of these cars are from each other. Once you drive them you won't believe the differences. It will become pretty clear which one you like the best.

the other week a friend and me were riding thru the mountains and almost had one run us over if that helps. it was silver/grey.
You know better; next time will be a ban.
I am not all that impressed with the GTR. C6Z over it any day of the week.
has any GTR owners here taken their car to ATL Dragway yet? curious as to what it'll run there.
I know you prob only like your Exotics, but the 2008-2009 Dodge Viper ACR. 600 hp stock, king of NurburgRing, 1000lbs of down force at 150mph, SEXY.Originally Posted by Ruiner

As much as I love the dodge viper, I don't think they would work well as a daily driver. My next car will be a C6Z, and hopefully that happens in the next couple years, if insurance is feasible. when I got the c5z when I was 19, insurance for a c6z was 450 a month, compared to the 175 a month for the c5z. I am sure the viper would be rough on me as well.Originally Posted by AnthonyF
