Im also quite familiar with the workings of a Honda four cylinder engine so don't jump to conclusions..I have built a few Honda motors in my short time on this planet. GSRs and Type Rs come with them girdles, B16s and LS motors do not. D16s have girdle/maincaps in one.. Thanks for being a douche and trying to prove something. Hope that works out for you better next time but...

Why does he need an aftermarket girdle? I've seen plenty of guys making OVER than hp with the stock girdle..and the motors last. Sleeves are usually the only block work you would need for that power level.

Not completely necessary, but when I build a race engine, I really don't cut any corners. I don't mind spending a little extra cash on ensuring that my rotating assembly is going to stay where it's suppose to on 10k revs at high HP levels. But that's just me (and a lot of others).

Do it. Don't be sad though when the first motor you built blows up on the dyno trying to make 400whp.

When you plan for a build, make your budget for it...then double it because that's what you'll likely end up spending and you wont be surprised.
