not suprising lol
cool.. but its nothing new.. seen it coming since it was debuted
Peek-a-boo mofucka what now?!
Honestly... I am kind of suprised, just because of the issues and questions that have been popping up as of lately with it.
Of course, this magazine article was written a little while ago obviously to put it in the magazine, but I think if they redone it, that it might not win... Just my .02, not hating on it though.
Back to being stock and slow
They paid the magazines, and the fanboys love it.
i wanna see proof of this.

This thread is full of win!!!
imagine if it had a 6 speed manual
0-60 in 3.3 sec, tops out at 195, goes as fast as a ferrari at a fraction of the price...
and won't cover the warranty for the option that allows it to achieve a 3.3 0-60Originally Posted by NissanTun3r
If it had a 6 speed it would be slower and probably break the tranny even faster since they can't safeguard it with VDC.

i was thinking a 6speed would be way more durable than the fancy jetsons POS that it has now. not sayin its crap but it should not be standard

-car and driver, 370z review
Ive spoken with a GTR owner and all about the transmission issues in question. He said GTR trannies are burning out/breaking under 1,000 miles and/or with out proper break in. Nissan will cover your transmission if it breaks if you've done proper break in, taken it easy on the car and not reached high rpm's before the 1000 mile break in period which is "suggested" when you buy the car, and int he manual. The GTR's with broken tranny's have been getting tracked since 0 miles (essentially) or haven't had a proper break in.
I know a few GTR owners who will tell you quite a different story, one with a broken tranny.Originally Posted by willum14pb

I respect the car for what it is but I dont think it should be awarded the car of the year. It's practically a brand new car, and with it comes with issues. Its unavoidable. I can almost get past the amount of issues it is having. But fact that the publicly put it against the 997 and claimed it of being a faster car around the track, knowing it wasn't the case.
i dont consider it deserving.... its nothin special to me... not even that good looking.

anyone have any factual information to state why the GTR doesnt deserve this award? Other than visual appearance, and gearbox options.
because there are other cars out there faster, better looking, etc. (zr1 in my opinion, which has received nothing but good reviews... EVEN ON TOP GEAR like the most anti-corvette show on the planet)

faster - name one car released this year that is in the GTR's price range, that makes the numbers it does in power/track times. And is still can be taken off the track to work the next morning. And be a tamed everyday car, with a full backseat.Originally Posted by blake06gto

one phrase....
BANG for the buck
i havent been to a dealership to look at nissan's prices for gt-r's to see if they are as marked up as much as the zr1's... but there's only like a 20-25k msrp difference between the cars which when u get into those numbers... seems the same range to me. if nissan doesnt dealer jack up their gt-r's like the zr1's do than ill say ive been corrected in which case yea the gt-r probably would be best bang for the buck.
and better looking is definitly a matter of persoanl opinion... hints me saying in my opinion... so i still stand with the gt-r not getting my vote.
plus lol who buys a gt-r for a family car![]()

thats a 40k difference BEFORE markup on either one. Price range its like comparing a 14k mazda3 to a 50k bmw. Its not about being a family car, thats what goes into these decisions when they give these cars these awards...all around practicality.
^It was a joke...lol.
But did anyone read GRM's review of it? lol
GRM and R35 sound like an oxymoron to me.Originally Posted by simontibbett
