the b16 is a good rod ratio,yes.but the ls is a longer stroke and makes more power,thats y ls/vtec works so well.i agree thay don't last as long at 8000 rpm's,thay were not ment to.the question was should he buy a b16 r b18c1,not ls r b16.your confussing the issue here.b16 r made to rev higher than l/s for sure,but thay don't make enough torque for shit.thats just the facts.when you slap a vtec head on a l/s you get the torgue of the l/s witch is more than the b16,and you get the high rpm power of the vtec.NO thay do not last very long at high rpm's unless you build it too.i.e. rods/pistons ect.bottom line this guy wants to know witch motor to buy and the b18c1 is a lot better than the b16- i know all you guys with b16's r gonna b pissed but its just facts.don't get me wrong you can make anything fast with enough dough,y not start off with as much as possible and do the c1 r c5
