i highly doubt anything bad will happen to these guys if infact it was the gm driving the car. the gm is the big dog at the dealership. he makes the calls.

I just did a google search for 1/4 mile times and saw many many reports of em doing right around 11.5 right around 120mph. The fastest was 11.4@122.

    Here is a good video:

who cares... IF he was the GM he could let any 1 he wanted go to the track with him,SH** i would if i was a gm.On top of that he probley even bought 1 himself considering gm's are never broke.
I check sluts off my list like a maintnence man
I drive a low is3 just so it gives me a reason to drive super slow on these rough ga roads.

Our general manager has been informed about this(by one of our customers who is waiting for his GTR) situation and it is being reported to NNA and i promise you that it will be investigated. Which ever dealership it is will loose its GTR Status no questions.

If nissan does it, whats the big deal? As long as the car was not damaged when I bought it, I wouldn't care.

If they were launching the cars, then I wouldn't want one. It also seems like they did a decent amount of runs, which puts a lot of stress on the barely broken-in trans and diff.

I can understand if they took just one and made it a demo car, but not all three.

That's what warranties are for, if its ****ed up they replace it. Its not like anyone here isn't going to go out and do the same thing. Hell for some folks its a selling point to say here's some proof of what you're new car is capable of.

Will you take one of these abused cars over one straight off the boat with 0 miles?

    Thats what I thought...

That's why I said I would understand if they took just one, but there's honestly no reason to add abuse to all three of their GTRs before they are sold.

My only concern would be wringing the cars out with the oil not up to temp.

So hypothetically, you would let the Best Man run a train on your virgin wife instead of breaking her in yourself?

There is another thread on NOGTROC.com where the supposed owner of the 2 cars shows up. Apparently he is a used car dealership owner who bought the two cars for himself. Thats why it had dealer plates and the original plastic on the seats. I don't know whether of not I believe it though (no pics to prove he is the owner of both). Also, he is still probably planning to flip them. Running a car at the drag strip that hadn't even been broken in yet is probably not a very good idea.

Breaking in the cars is a very old idea. Because of the low tolerances, the necessity of a breakin is greatly reduced these days. I dont know about the GTR but many other high performance engines are run for a few minutes and tested before they're dropped in. The 500 mile break-in int he manual is just there to cover their asses.

I'd be more worried about bringing oil up to temp.

I'm almost certain no one has ever pulled out of the lot with 0 miles on the dash. The dealership is required to put atleast 10 miles o nit to make sure everything is working right. Well actually upto about 30 miles, depending on what dealership. They all have different rules for the breaking in.
