Thread: 2009 Mazda 3 or 2009 Honda Civic

    Default 2009 Mazda 3 or 2009 Honda Civic

    My friend keeps screaming Civic to me and I tell him your an idiot. Seriously you get Xenon Headlamps 158hp and better looking then that piece of crap. You only need a Civic if you want to save gas but he keeps telling me Honda's are 10x better.

    What's your opinion?

    The civic is roomier but the 3 is a way more fun car to drive. It's also a quicker car. The civic looks like a spaceship with 4 doors. I'm not a big fan of the 3's styling but I like it better than the civic.

    BTW, you should post a poll up.

    K series 626. That's right. It's got a K in it.

    looking at base mazda 3 or base honda civic, I'm a honda guy, but I think the mazda 3 is a better entry level car than the civic. Once you get into better stages, I would probably still take the MS3 over the Si, just because the turbo

    Mazda 3 by a long shot. Better options, better looking, faster (best performing in its class for braking, handling, and acceleration).

    ^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

    Personally I wouldn't buy either... but if I HAD to choose I would choose the civic. In terms of resale value and quality, the honda will always win. The 3 is a nice car, but if you look on ebay you will notice that only a handfull of the 50 or so mazda 3's listed even have bids. On the other hand, about 50% of civics listed have bids. The civic will be easier to resale in the long run, and will most likely last longer.

    How can u base anything on the amount of bids.. on Ebay...lol. Resale in a honda cannot be beat, thats 1 thing i cant deny. But the 3's arent ****ty cars. And have alto of great options/standard options that civic doesnt even offer.

    but it's in a different class............... no offense but I hate when people post dumb **** like this. you could just keep going up and up if budget and class don't matter.

    No, the best small car is the McLaren F1, those are pretty small!

    (base, bottom of the barrle price to fully loaded price)

    Honda civic =$14,810-$24,590
    Honda Civic Si=$21,110-$23,930
    Mazda3 =$13,995-$24,230
    Mazdaspeed3=$22,440-$26,755
    Subaru Imprezza STI=$34,995-$39,440

    Kind of a big difference there chief.

    I test drove a Mazda3 with a friend who was looking for a new car and it was a nice car. It handled well and the suspension was stiff enough to give you good feedback but soft enough to remain comfortable.

    I like my DD '89 Accord n' all, but if between your choices..

    After seeing that pic, even I would own that in a heartbeat versus a new Civic.

    I actually just saw a really well-done black Mazda 3 on base a few days ago, and was like "Holy sh*t, wtf IS that? OMG a Mazda 3? Wow...looks really good!"

    Mugen Civic SI "if you can find one."

    Life begins at 6000 RPMS.. You will notice an audible change in engine noise, large increase in acceleration and any female passengers will immidiately start to remove their clothing.

    I was giving a real example of the how it is so much easier to resell a honda. I never said the 3's were ****ty. I just wouldn't buy one.
