not a personal personal experience, but one ive seen w/ my own two..

a friend of mine w/ a boosted b16 toasted his b16 almost as soon as he went boost..and i've seen/heard on other honda 'type' forums of persons who have done b16 turbos and fried their engines too. dont get me wrong ive also heard good stories of b16s being turbo and yielding good results and when they are boosted...:idb:

but ive heard(not seen) more stories of b18s lasting longer on boost than b16s..thats why i say b18s are more reliable than b16s...
