    Default Spec V delayed...for S-Tune...

"Today’s unofficial reports see the highly-anticipated Nissan *** Spec V delayed from a fall launch in Japan to some time later this year or early in 2009. The reasons for the delay are not known, but are likely a result of more time needed to develop the car, which has big shoes to fill in order to beat the performance of the standard car.
The reports originated from the Japanese BestCar magazine, and also reveal Nissan will launch a third *** model to appease buyers in the meantime. The model, likely to carry an S-Tune badge, will be offered with NISMO-developed parts, some of which adorned the racing version of the *** that raced in the Tokachi 24-hour endurance race. This model may come sooner than later, as it is expected to make a debut at the same time as the NISMO performance part line-up, slated for August 20.
The go-fast parts will include a selection of suspension upgrades, aerodynamic pieces, wheel and tires and a new ECU and exhaust system to bump up power output."

    Supposedly leaked photos of V-Spec

I can't wait for the new GTR vs. zr1 fanboy arguments to continue when this comes out.

lolol JITB WOULD be the one to post such nonsense...

but ATK is probably right, the ZR-1 will be a tough ass car to beat, even with the v-spec or whatever. not saying it cant happen, but its gonna be f0cking close.

but the gt-r is still ugly, heavy, and overpriced.

^not really, it's the greddy dealers that make these cars overpriced. For what they are, their MSRPs are about just right for their performance.

You can say it's ugly because that's personal opinion, heavy is just truth, but I'd like to see your argument on it being overpriced. Sorry, but for the money of a GTR vs. any stock car it's pretty much unbeatable right now. And this is coming from someone who wants natural selection to take care of all the GTR fanboys.

The zr1 is amazing, so would the spec-v be. It's all personal preference which is better. I just personally like nissan more than chevy. But the zr1 costs about 120k doesn't it? For that price I'd try to get an Audi r8 over a GT-R and ZR1. And the r8 is available in 6-speed.

For the money? The R8 BASE MSRP with ZERO options for 6-speed Quattro is $112,500. That also assumes you get one of the TWO Solid-Gloss NON-Metallic paints that don't have an upcharge, either Red or White. Getting a Metallic or Pearl (The only way to get Black is Pearl) is $650 more. It also assumes you are happy with Alcantara rather than real leather, as real leather is either $2000 for the basic leather package or $5500 for the enhanced leather package. Add the basic options that make the R8 into an Audi, like the Premium package, Navigation and the sound upgrade, and a Body-Color Sideblade to keep the R8 from being uglier than a GT-R, and you get $120,500 MSRP. Most Audi dealers are gonna add quite a bit in delivery and bull**** fees. That puts the R8 well out of the same price range as the GT-R, even with what the dealer's are adding as bull**** fees right now.

PS: I've been singing the praises of the R8 long before people actually thought it was cool, or real. The R8 is incredible, for what it is. It's a Luxury Exotic. The GT-R is a Supercar. It's not the BEST Supercar, and would be one of the best performing Luxury Exotics, but it's NOT. It's a Supercar, a good one, a cheap one, an incredible one, but not the best.

I do agree in that I would take an R8 over any of those cars. But whoever it is that posted before me is right, you can't get an R8 for the cost of a GTR, but it will definitely be cheaper than a zr1 if the projected insane markups occur. I could never spend that kind of money without getting a real manual, I dont care if it doesn't shift as fast, **** paddle shifters.

Nothing wrong with that, but considering you dont know how easy a GTR is to maintain that doesn't make sense. If Nissan kept anything from the old Skylines it should be realtively easy to keep running, but I dont know either so I guess it's all relative to taste.
