Sorry to bust your bubble but you have not been informed!
I was told that the EPA has made it mandatory that ALL motors coming into the US HAVE to have come from a car that has an EPA certification. In other words ALL JDM motors do NOT have this. (As the cars they come out of were never EPA certified here in the US.) I just got off the phone with the EPA and after being on hold for about an hour and transferred about 5 different times, they did confirm this!!

When I asked them why I had not been told by most of my importers about this they told me that the ONLY way to get a motor imported into the US that did not have an EPA certification was to “falsely represent” what you were importing on the import paper work and that most companies would not want you to know they were doing that! Now this is coming from the EPA, NOT me. So if you do not believe this give the EPA a call! Heck, call and complain about it! Tell them it’s not right! Don’t know if it will do any good but it’s worth a try!!
This is the biggest crock of **** that there is! A big part of my business is JDM conversions! If this is not true and if there is a LEGAL way to import JDM motors into the US PLEASE if there are any importers on here, let me know!!
