They are just stupid. The prices are getting lower, but last I heard they were still well above MSRP.

Wouldn't say I was late. I haven't kept up with the skyline, nor did I read this whole thread. My uncle is pretty high up at a Nissan dealership and he told me almost a year ago that they were planing to almost double the price. So I prob knew more then most a long time ago. So maybe I was early

"The C6 CORVETTE ZR-1 aims to be the best street-able race car GM could build"

"There are NO American cars that can do this except the ZR1 to date! The ZR1 truly is a race car on the street and has the endurance to go from coast to coast as fast as possible without breaking, if there were no speed limits."

Yeah it is streetable and legal but so is the Mclaren F1. Sorry man I call it how I see it. If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, chances are its a duck.
I SEE YOUR POINT, AND IT IS A GOOD ONE. BUT IT PASSES ALL THE FEDERAL EMISSIONS AND NOISE STANDARDS FOR A STREET CAR OR ELSE IT WOULDNT BE PRODUCED....BUT YOU'RE POINT IS STILL VERY VALID

Let's compare apple to apples (pricewise), it's MSRP vs MSRP.

Like others posted here that there are bunch of people paying MSRP for the GT-R.

ZR1 isn't out yet, so you can't say that they'd sell at MSRP.

It's all depending on how bad you want it and how rare they are at that location, just like gaming systems, Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii, etc. Can't really factor in the markups.

they are selling at or just over MSRP here in Atlanta, $73,000 +++ at most

Call me a fanboy all you like, I have owned a 2 vette's, they were decent cars except the C5's motor problems (got replaced twice at dealer) and the C4's lack of performance. Since I own a Motorex R33 GT-R now I would think of myself more of a potential buyer than a fan boy.

Should be interesting. IMHO, I do not think it will sell well at that price, but if the performance is there......

Even if the performance is there......you can have a

    1. Porsche 911 Turbo, GT3, and GT2
    2. Ferrari F430
    3. Lamborghini Gallardo

    For cheaper than that.

Again, a true exotic for cheaper than a Lexus.

All this talk about price and what not, is mute... If you can AFFORD a car thats 70k, you can afford to make the payments on one thats 100k. People that buy cars like this aren't pinching pennys to make ends meet like most people on here.
