i voted the 400 range for the street. I daily drove my 500hp white civic around no problem gettin 30 mpg.
since my car is my daily, 200whp would be more than enough to be quick and reliable
as long as the car can move im happy
considering i will probably only be driving eg's or ek's, anything over 300hp for a DD is a little pointless. especially for a fwd car. 300 in a car that light will even up to alot of 400 450 hp cars. if i had like a 240sx or something a little bigger and rwd or awd i would want a little more like 400ish.
200-250 is plenty good for me allmotor.
I would want upwards of 1000. why? because it would be scary and fun at the same time.
I don't understand the purpose of ppl wanting excessive hp when they can barely drive what they have now to its limits.....
You should be able to drive your car to its maximum potential at its very basic state before you go looking for more power than you can possibly handle and can use legally.....
IMO anything over 300hp on a daily driver is ridiculous.
I would want about 170. Naturally aspirated. Why? I do road race stuff, it's a light car, I want a clean powerband without lag and a mess. Just a simple crazy fast revving motor.
Eh, around 400 accross the board in my SN-95 would keep me content. My bolt on/cammed Mach didnt have that much and I enjoyed every second of it.
I chose 400-499 just because I'm thinking that should be enough to pull 600cc bikes on the hwy and I would like to be able to say that I can pull on motorcycles.
when i was planning the dc, i was looking around 200-220 for a road race all motor set-up.
pullin on bikes would be fun...Quote:

The 300-399 whp class has kept me satisified for the last couple of years. My Neon makes 320+whp on pump, 350+whp on pump and meth, while 370+whp on race gas. So far at the drag strips, it has achieved a 12.4 @ 110 on pump, an 11.9 @ 117 on race gas, and a 120 mph trap.
My Neon is my daily driver and I sure do put it to use on the road. The odometer reads 108,907 miles right this minute and we are in CA as I type this. It gets 25-28 mpg going to work and back while 29-33 mpg on the highway.
BTW, the car was purchased new in June 2005 while the setup was put in November 2005.
That should be more than enough horsepower to achieve that goal especially with how light your car is. Even I have pulled on a couple bikes. Just a few nights ago while I was on the way home from work, I ran into a Gixxer. We did at least four pulls and I ended up pulling on the bike every time. One run with the bike around three cars in front and me with the move, I pulled four cars on him by 140 from a 60 kick. That was me on pump + meth.Quote:

Lag is highly overrated even on a road course.Quote:

at least 200hp for my DD. 350hp for the project car(for now).
Hrmm, now I wait until the day I can throw some boost on the CRX! It's good to hear that your car is so reliable homie.Quote:

Anymore than that and I'd have to go F.I. which I'd rather not do just to have quick throttle response and power on demand.
I can't imagine how quick your car is with 120 WHP & 23,000 lbs. You must get body roll like whoa during autocrossing. :goodjob:Quote:

I voted 300-399hp <to the wheels is enough to make me happy, 4-500 would be a minimum life goal right now for a weekend car, anything more would tickly my fance into a wall faster than nick hogan...now for a dd honda 200 would be enough to shut mustangs around here the fucck up.
with the amount of money i have spent, i better make AT LEAST 500
i said 100hp cuz of gas
I just put down a little over 300 hp / 350ish tq and I am pretty happy with it. I don't really want more until I can get a stronger tranny
My truck is about 400hp/405trq and it has plenty of go power. I love it!
I'll be realistic, I will look into a supercharger or turbo kit for it in the future. I want more.
The Evo use to be my daily with 500whp, but it was too loud on the street and got too much unwanted attention.
if its gonna be a daily 300-350 , but the weekends are a diff. story, 400+
When my TT kit was first put on I thought my 344 whp DD map was fast. Now I find myself using my 405whp map more. I am probably about to go built motor in the next few months though. Looking for high 400's for low boost and mid 500's for fun runs.
I voted around 200-299 whp because I am right at 200whp/tq now N/A and enjoy driving it day to day. With a basic low-boost, Z32 MAF Z32 370s, IC, Basic AFC and WB02 my power goals would be around 280-320 whp from 6-9 psi. Wouldn't do much more than that on this car.
For AWD/RWD I would put a power goal on 400+whp. I am about cutting weight and all-around performance (braking/handling) rather than highway pulls and posting up dyno charts that look like look like a ramp, more about total area under the curve than peak numbers. That's just me though and I love to see people pushing the limits of whatever they are working with.
I'd like 450-500. Anymore than that is pointless to me. 400 hp and you have more hp than 90% of the cars on the road. The other 10% you will hardly ever come across on the open road. I'm hoping Im finally at 450ish
-Ant.
i would like around 600-650
sry man but I cannot vote.....because to me you cant just say I will be happy with "X" horsepower....each car has its own style/ feel/ power limitations....so for say EX: a civic 250whp , nsx 350whp, vette 450whp, skyline 500whp, supra 500whp
I voted 300-400 because my goal is 350-375 eventually. At that power level, i'd be in the 11's which is plenty to fluck with a lot of cars in a straight line from a dig or from a roll. That power would also be the limits of that largest DOTR/slicks i could fit on my car without going widebody/flares.
Not to mention that would give me a power to weight ratio of about 6.5:1...... thats flucking MOVING.
550whp with my volvo. Its not too difficult to do, but I need a place to do it. That hp level is about where the stock valves and cams run out of breath, so I figure that is a good stopping point before things get too costly.
Im already in the 300-399 hp.. And im Craving more!! I remember when I first got it, it seemed so fast I couldn't even floor it.. Now its slow.. You can talk to guys who drive supercars and they will tell you that they are bored with it..
I chose >500 hp.. Short term, yes.. But in reality, I don't think anything will satisfy forever, I will need more no matter how much hp i have..
I voted 400-499.
Id love to have that in my S14, with an Rb26, teheh.
