Default OBD2b to OBD2a Motor Question?

I have a OBD2b car and a OBD2a Motor and OBD2a Ecu. If i plan on using my current harness and i purchase a OBD2b to OBD2a jumper harness will my car pass emissions. Thanks in advance. I really need to know in order to continue on my current project.

**Will be using my OBD2b intake manifold**

as long as you don't have any cel you'll be fine. obd2 uses scan of the data port for cel, readiness, and gas cap. if all those are ok=pass. my car is obd2b y7 w/ obd2b y7 ecu w/ obd2a y8 intake manifold. the thing is i use all the sensors from the obd2b (3 wire iacv, tdc, cyp, etc) and as long as the ecu see's what it's looking for it passes every year. your's may be easier if you don't have to deal with 3-wire iacv.

Scotty you said your using a obd2b ecu though. I will be using the obd2a ecu. That shouldn't be looking for crank angle, knock and all that. Are you saying it should still work as long as it is OBD2 period? Or should i get a OBD2b NON VTEC ecu?

no u will need to run a obd2b ecu in a obd2b car also if its non vtec u must use a nonvtec ecu if its vtec you can use a vtec ecu or a non vtec ecu as long as u dont u have a cel when u go down
