    Default Roof Racks!!!

Oh that's right, this thread is happening.

I completely understand why many people have roof racks. It is definitely convenient to have a handy way to carry your bike (or drifting go kart) around with you. It's a functional piece and if someone has it, and they use it, they should definitely keep it.

What I do not understand, are the people who claim that a car looks better with a roof rack. I can simply just not wrap my mind around this. Strapping a black structure of poles and rails to the to the top of a car achieves the opposite of a "clean" look(what so many strive for). I'm not saying that I think roof racks look bad. I just do not think they, in any way, improve the appearence of a car.

Just to clarify any confusion, I have absolutely no problem with someone having a roof rack and using it. They should continue rocking it. I just don't understand how anyone can think that their car (or someone elses) looks better with one.

    Discuss.

to me i think it makes the car look more personal or functional. i love roof racks... i dont even really care if you put any damn thing on it.

i dont really know why but it just makes a car look not so much like a show car or a fast car, but more of a daily driver that completely suits a driver's needs. when put on a "show car" it just makes it more realistic and usable i think...

i dont know, that is kind of an out of the box idea and hard to type, but i just like their look of usability.

AGREED!!! This roof rack CRAZE is funny to me. I can't wait until I get mine on my Civic and people start calling me a hypocrite for it. Lolol. There will be a big difference with mine, though. Later, QD.

Roof racks look better than half of bike hanging out of trunk, that is being tied down with a rope or bungee strap...

Roof racks are better than those gay tow hooks with animals hanging from them.

Agreed! But roof racks are so cool to me, not saying they make the car look tons better like a good set of rims, but in a way they make the cars apperence a little more different. Sometimes in a good way and sometimes bad.

Some interesting input here and there. Upon reflection, it's really not even a factor for me if you use it or not. Like I said I don't think they look bad. I just think that cars in general look better without them, and thus don't understand people that think they improve the look of a car.

I guess different strokes for different folks. It's just kind of a silly visual "enhancement" in my opinion. I wouldn't even be opposed to having one on my car if needed. I would just understand that I'm sacrificing looks for utility.

Oh and stuffed animals hanging from tow hooks, so much worse.

There's a lot of truth to this. Still, this roof rack thing raises a "WTF" flag in my camp. Pretty sure it's just another stupid fad that's going around. Iif you put one on your car but not using it, you're just a tool that's trying to be special.

theres no chance that the top will still go in the trunk with the rack on there is there?? or if it doesnt fit in its brace can you just put it in the trunk?

I think roof racks are pretty dumb. Whether or not you bike or not. Some folks are just jumpin the bandwagon whether they say they are or not. If they really claimin they use it, why didn't they run racks a year ago and take pictures or roll around with them 24/7? Its just another factor in the decrease of gas mileage imo.

A non-used bike rack on a car is just there because of fad following. Most of the time, it doesn't even look that good. Later, QD.

Lol can someone tell me what kind of roof rack will fit on my 87' RX7? I want to be exactly like the civics lol.. No seriously I need one jus bought a BMX bike and I will need one, don't want to fuck up my interior carpet.. And I won't doubt people that don't use them are fucking stupid for being followers instead of leaders.. If you buy it, use it!! But can someone find me one though? Like yakima or thune or whatever their names are.. Thanks
    Peek-a-boo mofucka what now?!
