    Default I got f'ed by DTD....PICS ADDED

so I bought a DD and it's been at the paint shop for about 2 weeks.

for those that don't know...I bought a 97 Honda Civic LX Sedan...it was a little rough, but I got it for a good price so I jumped on it. I'll have before and after pics once it's finished this week. Anyways, last week I went online at Discount Tire Direct and found some Rota Slipstream lookalikes for a good deal, and they had all the assortment of colors...I chose medium gray. Well, yesterday the wheels arrived at the shop and the owner calls me to ask why I ordered "gold" wheels. I flipped the hell out and drove to the shop to see that they did in fact send matte gold wheels. I called them up and bitched and moaned about how they f'ed me and my car is coming out of the shop and I refused to roll on gold wheels. Well, after all was said and done....medium gray wheels never exsisted, nor did plain silver. All that was offered was bronze, gold, flat black, and gloss black with polished lip. I was trying my best to keep this car as non rice and at least a decent looking for my long hauls on the highway, which is why I ordered medium gray. All they freaking had left was gloss black with polished lip. As much as I hate black wheels, I had to just say okay with it, because I needed something for the car to roll out with. Well, they 2nd day aired it for me so I would get it in time to make up for my troubles and refunded $100. So I basically got wheels/tires for $450.

So IA, how rice are these wheels gonna be? I've yet to see anyone rock these and I just really wanted a solid color wheel.

oh yeah, my car was repainted the stock factory color of Cyclone Metallic Blue

Remember, wheels can be painted just as easy as the car was if you are really not satisfied with them being black.

    Replica Rota's LOLOL *sigh*

What color is the car being painted? I would have kept the gold just so you don't have to paint over polished aluminum. The paint shop can paint them any color you want and being new wheels that don't need much prepping they should be cheap to spray.

...and those Drag wheels were $550 shipped?

nm, just saw the metallic blue.

Actually from a lot of cars I have seen, blue with gold wheels doesn't actually look that bad...

you gotta remember...this is for a DD, not a show car or a super tyte jdm style civic.

I always liked the way slips looked, and was just looking for a great deal. I don't care about brand as it's not a show car...I was about value.

With the refund, I got 4 wheels and tires for $450 shipped 2nd day air. So, I can live with them....I just did not want two tone wheels....but they were out of bronze, gunmetal, flat black....all they had were gold, which I had, and then the gloss black with polished lip. I don't know why, but I cannot ride on gold wheels for a daily driver.

anyways, wheels came in after I left and my car is now getting wet sanded and polished, so I'll be able to pick up my LX tomorrow with it's 107hp of fury!

I was laughing at you saying they were Rota copys when 15" Rotas are brand new for $380 per set and up to $450 for a set of 16".

do something different to stand out. I went with bronze wheels on my white accord and reason being is because no one locally(i've seen) has bronze wheels. So maybe the bronze look on a metallic blue might not have been bad but I agree with 'Motivation', wheels can be painted just as easy.

Nobody locally has bronze wheels? Was this 1995?

Big difference between gold and bronze though.

Of course, it also depends on the car. Drove by a blue S2K with gold wheels... Looked great... Post up some pics when you get it back with the new wheels on it.

    alrighty!

After filling out their customer satisfaction survey, I was contacted by the General Manager and he is going to right the wrong. He basically told me to choose any wheel in the 15' selection from their website and he will make it happen to make me happy. I'm probably gonna stick with the DR-23's but I asked for him to get me the Charcoal or Flat Silver color....because the two tone basically killed the wheel for me.
