Exclamation 4spd DX tranny VS. 5spd HF tranny...

Money issues are causing this question... I have my old 4spd DX tranny or my original 5spd HF tranny to go with my JDM 1.5 SOHC VTEC... I remember when I put the 4spd on a ZC in my EF hatch before it was quick, but it would max out too fast. Although the HF 5spd has five gears and was designed for economy 1.5 SOHC non-VTEC. I'm not sure the turnout between the two? I see everyday on ImportAtlanta D-Series trannies going fairly cheap, but I'm worried about a rebuild being necessary. WTF should I do??? Plus damn I need a D-Series SOHC VTEC ecu for this engine aswell, somebody help me!!!

if you are looking for performance, both of the trannies suck ass... the hf tops out around 200mph ... if you have it bolted to a stock d series you will never get out of 3rd gear unless you just want to save gas... you can hit 80-90 mph in second gear with those... i would recommend an si or dx or the hf with a si final drive.... you can pick up these all day for under 100....
