wow.... some useless info here.... I do know this , i would do the LS... The b20 has MUCH more thin sleeves.... Drop a set of forged piston's and rods in and your good to go for 400whp on a ls.. The sleeves in b20's will blow out a lot sooner tha a LS.. I also think the b18b head flows better , but dont quote me on that...

even with the forged internals, you will probably need some head work to reach 400whp. you can probably get it, but it will be A LOT easier with a good valve job and p&p. yes the b20 has thinner sleeves so the ls is better for boost. good post goinfasterthanu

if you are keeping stock internals use the b20 bottom end... if you are going forged pistons, rods etc i would use the ls bottom end if you aren't going to get it sleeved....

Thanks ... belive i learned all this in 2 weeks..? I was a h22 guy..... Yea head work would help a LOT as the ls/b20 head flows like ass.....for 400whp that is...

LS block with a GSR head. B20=weak cylinder sleeves. If you want a 2 liter than just resleeve the LS block to make it a 2 liter, 84.5mm or whatever. I heard that 83mm sleeves are more ideal for turbo, i dunno though.

so best bet is 2 go wit a ls bottom end wit a gsr head damn i thought it woulda been better if i was 2 go with the b20 considering it had more torque than the ls but didin know about the sleevez but would it matter if im goin with a gsr head cause i do plan on upgradin the pistonz n etc.

gsr head and b16 head flow nearly identical in stock form.

I thought the point to do ls vtec is to have a stronger bottom end to turbo with vtec... Why not all alum. block and head to do all motor?

I always thought that the B16/ITR head flowed better than the GSR head....maybe I am wrong.

I thought that ITR head has some port job on them, which suppose to make it flows better too...

nope. in stock form, the b16 and gsr head flows within 2 cfm's of each other. alaniz did the test a few years ago. i used to have the chart. but 2 cfm's doesnt mean **** honestly. they are about the same. the gsr has slightly higher compression due to the smaller combustion chambers. the itr is a b16 head with a port job and will outflow either in stock form.

haha i still have to disagree with you. I've had them all. I know the differences. And i'll like to see you explain your idea to Ed @ Balance too.
