might be cheaper to just shorten the stroke to make it a 2.4

noob a K24A2 is a TSX engine, not crv.

Your RSX tranny will bolt up to any K series engine. The only issues you will have are:

    1) the head and intake manifold are slightly different than the K20A2. It has a coolant passage in the IM. You will need to buy a hondata adaptor and use your K20A2 intake manifold and throttle body. The TSX has a smaller TB anyway, so using the K20A2 IM and TB will make better power.

    2) The deck height of the block is a lot more than the K20A2, so you may have problems getting the hood to close. You will also need to have your ECU chipped, since the TSX ecu will not work. TSX's have drive by wire throttle system. It is a different setup than the normal style throttle cable controlled throttle body. Get a hondata KPRO.

here is a link about some of this stuff.

I dont understand how shortening the stroke will make it a 2.4? Shorter stroke = less displacement. Longer stroke = more displacement. Thats what stroker kits are for...

you implied that it was. Why would say " do it man, the crv is the best swap" when this guy has a TSX engine (which would be a better swap than a K24A1). They are completely different.

ive seen a few people on clubrsx with swaps and i heard the crv was easier because its just the longblock that u are swapping and u dont need much to change between the two engines here lemme find a link but i dont much about this whole thing i was just giving him an alternate route that might be easier from what ive seen

you mean swapping a K24A1 block and using the K20A2 head? That may be cheaper, but not easier. You have to change the head over. Also the K24A1 has much lower compression than a K20A2 or a K24A2, which means it will make less HP than a K24A2 unless you put a set of pistons in it. I dont see how that will be easier than just dropping the K24A2 in and swapping the Intake manifold. BTW, he already has the K24A2, so why are we even talking about this?

1st link has a K24A2, not CRV, second is talking about a K20A2 with a K20Z1 head, third is a racing engine with 15:1 pistons (nothing about that engine is K24A4 except the block), fourth may have some useful info, fifth is ok. The first three links have no useful info for this guy.

you will have to get the K-pro retuned, the header won't fit, but the intake should fit fine if you use the K20A2 intake manifold.

as for the motor mount, I think a 2002+ CRV one will work.

what gasket? I'm not sure what header will work. The DC header you have will bolt up, but since the deck of the K24A2 is higher, you will have to get the runners lengthened if you want to use it. I'm not sure about that though.

edit: the deck of the engine is only slightly higher. If you are not running a full race header, it may bolt right up fine.

yes if you want to use the K20A2 intake manifold, you will have to use the adaptor. Hondata and karcepts both make it.

heres a pic. The piece on the end is what is different. The TSX intake manifold has that piece built on. On the K20A2 head, it is seperate, and a hose connects to it. this adaptor makes it simple.
