you mean swapping a K24A1 block and using the K20A2 head? That may be cheaper, but not easier. You have to change the head over. Also the K24A1 has much lower compression than a K20A2 or a K24A2, which means it will make less HP than a K24A2 unless you put a set of pistons in it. I dont see how that will be easier than just dropping the K24A2 in and swapping the Intake manifold.
