Holy **** is that a Mustang with a lambo rear end or Lambo with a mustang front end...****it I'll just call it a Lamborstang....haha that is original. And for some odd reason I like it. Just like I like Time Attack style wheels as well as a wheel with a lip. But that is a personal preference.
Cant we all jus get along?

imo, rice is tasteless mods.. fast or slow, a car that is rice is rice.. i dont wait to see the car run 1/4 mile to say its rice or not, i just look at it in pictures or i see it in a parking lot..Originally Posted by bigdare23

Wow a blue car with black and red wheels, you have great taste. Stevie Wonder could pick a hotter car out of a lineup than you.Originally Posted by Shaun

the blue one? anything done differently would make it look better lol..Originally Posted by Kyle
I should just change the title to black with red lip = played out(not neccesarily rice)
No I am saying your attitude is indicative of you having a problem. I have no intentions of talking about wheels.Originally Posted by imbosile

I got those wheels a few years ago. The car they were on has been gone since early this year and I had them on there almost the entire time I owned it. They were professionally painted, by well known shop. I searched high and low for wheels that came with a red lip but could not find a single set that was a 17" 4x100. No one made them then but now is a different story. (I did find one or two pairs in 18" or in the wrong bolt pattern but they were not cheap and very few and far between).
I totally agree that painting your stock wheels to copy aftermarket wheels is pretty stupid... especially some half assed spray paint job. I wouldn't put anything on my car that didn't look professional. If you want new wheels, save some money and get some.
Also, I believe in looking at more than just the wheels, look at the whole car. Time attack wheels look like crap on some cars because the style doesn't fit or the color looks awful with red. Like the blue a few posts up.... EW... nice car, nice wheels, but the two do not look right together. You don't have to get something trendy just to be trendy... get what fits your car.
My time attack wheels have been retired. I like to have things that are a little different and it was time for a change. I got tons of compliments on them though. We may see them a lot more often in the car community, but most people on the street rarely see wheels like that.

Fake BBS' but whatever, still looks good...
"Time attack" editions of Volk and Work wheels didn't come out until 2007 (pre-sale in 2006). The Mugen RNR had them years before when the "time attack" wasn't even known outside of the event in Japan. I'm positiveOriginally Posted by JennB

The only ones I found when before I gave in and just had mine painted were the Ralliart R-01 Evolution's. But... $600 each and only in 5x114.3. Not easy to find at the time either. (This was all in 2005)
I have a pic I personally took at SEMA 2005 of time attack style wheels. I loved them and decided that was what I wanted on my car.... and I had them ordered, painted and on the car just a short time after that.

Not really. Somebody on page 1 or page 2 said something to the effect of "colormatched wheels are rice". So I thought I would post a pic of the proper execution of colormatched wheels.Originally Posted by speedminded

VW owners think everything is rice. its a state of mind you ******s. your making it out to say, if you dont got money to buy real deal ****, then your rice!

Their are a lot of dubbers who call anything non euro rice, but I can respect a clean car regardless of who makes it. But the thing is peoples lack of style is rice. Their are plenty of people who build budget cars that look great. It's not a matter of money.Originally Posted by LSTurboHatch

i was actually disappointed when ray's teamed up with seibon to make 'seibon edition' volks with TA style. that's lame. seibon FTL. any replicas FTL for that matter.
