    or for 80K have Banzai build u a 500hp 20B RX-7,that has top speed of over 200mph

I will be the first to admit that certain movies have bloated the Skyline rep, and that a MKIV TT, Z TT, FD, ect are on par with a GTR.

Contrary to popular belief, some people dont get Skylines to be the fastest cat on the block. Ive owned a ton of Nissans(S's and Z's), and was tired of everything being done. I got mine (as well as most R owners) in order to go in a different direction.

Just to take step back a few pages,

About the FTO, there is only one, LEGAL, titled, and etc in the United States.

As for the Skyline, I like the way it looks but, that is too much for a car. I am with Mr.Kidd, I'd get a Porsche.

And my reference to importing the cars to Canada was because the import laws to import into Canada are way more strict than importing into the USA. So if they can get them there, then it should be easier to get them here. There's a clause in the Canadian import laws that says any vehicle 15 years or older is legal for import regardless of anything else so that's what people are doing. and the R33s just became legal this year though it'll be another 2 years before the GTR makes its way in there since they introduced the GTx version 2 years prior to the GTR for that generation. Try looking into that and see if there's anything similar here.
Well, obviously, by your own post, it isn't harder to get Skylines into Canada. The clause makes it easier. at least for R32's and R33's. Done. As for different purposes, what purpose would you be buying your Skyline for? Performance? Haha riiiiight. No, you would be getting it to impress other Import car owners. Being a "Cool" guy because you have a Skyline.
So while i'm impressing the opposite sex, you are trying to impress guys. Go for it buddy. I'd still take the 930 Turbo and outperform your Skyline in just about every way.

Speedminded. Once you get your car registered, get a vin number on it and a title, it's done. Legalized in the US. It may not stand up under a federal inspection but by then it's too late. Once you get all of that documentation they will not attempt to take your car, especially in Georgia (where i'm assuming we all live). The legal ramifications would not be favorable. You could sue the city, state and who knows who else for them legalizing your car then taking it and crushing it. They will not waste their time on that.

Either way, all of this is just one persons opinion against other peoples opinion because this is all in theory. My brother though, has imported numerous Japanese vehicles. I've seen the headaches he's gone through with his and believe me, it isn't a picnic. Between then container headaches, the open deck transport where 8 of his cars were seized by customs to the paperwork to get them off of the docks, the legalization part of it was by far the most painless part of it.

i think i'll stick to my 510s and 240z's because they draw attention and are completely legal. You guys invest your money into older Nissans and bring back our heritage. Heil Nissan

Sorry but any guy who buys hot cars simply for their image is trying to impress other guys, that's just facts. If you buy a car to try to impress women you're doing something wrong. Real women don't give 2 shits about cars.

Yes and no, real women do care about cars but if one is truly into them then they could give 2 shits about what you drive...it's all about what they drive

Dude, Skylines maybe the shit...but an FD3S and a Toyota Supra will kick the shit out of a Skyline... To me, i personally think everyone were after skylines when 2Fast2Furious came out. That too was what made it so popular here in the states. Everyone wants one cuz of the name "Skyline". U can drop a RB26 in a 240SX and it'll do that same as any other Nissan Skyline R34 GTR, besides it being AWD.

skyline does look bad ass but for the money buy a supra, RX-7, or a NSX and you'll have money left over to put in it as well. then you'll be able to cream a skyline

How is the hell is everyone coming up with these comparisons???!!! First a 240 IS NOT a Skyline, the 240sx is based on the Silvia...TWO completely differant platforms. Sure, you want to attempt to built one then get an S14, the R34 suspension and brakes will bolt up, throw in an RB26DETT...it still doesn't have the same look or handling characteristics as a Skyline of the same year. Skylines can't be compared to any other Nissan, that's all there is to it.

    2) What is a NSX going to run? Even a '91 is going to be $20k with 100k miles. Any idea what a '91 Skyline will cost? Maybe $5k shipped on a bad day? Dump $15,000 into an engine and suspension and tell me it won't be as reliable and out handle and perform a $20k NSX. Toyota Supra? lol, find me a decent running Turbo for a decent price then compare that to an R32 or R33's price...

Actually you are wrong. The second major purchase other than a home is a car. Women look at a car as a determination of your worth. Fucked up, but true. You can say that real women don't car about a mans car but you go and pick them up in a busted ass divic with no A/C or a 911 and see which one gets you farther down the road to the golden palace. Thats just facts.

So getting back to reality. If I am going to drop 50 to 80k on a used car, it damm sure isn't going to be something that I have to get legalized, or according to others in the thread, something I will always have to watch over my shoulder with in case the Feds send SWAT to invade my home for my illegal car. I'm going to spend it on something that is A. going to hold it's value a little better, B is easy to sell when I want to, because the market for $50,000 used cars that have the Nissan name isn't large. And C. Something I can get in and drive without having to relearn my driving style to compensate for the other side of the car. Having owned a RHD Fairlady, it's fun for about a month and then it's a pain in the ass.

In the end, it's your money. How you choose to spend it is up to you. Have at it.

Sorry but I have never had a woman turn me down because of my car. Any girl that judges a man based on his money/possessions is no one worth wasting my time on and sure as hell is not a woman.
