Default Looking to import a Skyline R34...need some info

Does anyone know if MotoRex, out in California, is still the only company in the US that is certified for importing the Skylines? I know up until about 2-3 years ago they were the only ones with a patent on importing the R34's (they were the only company that had subjected five R34's for crash testing; poor, rare, incredible Nissan Skylines...)

Well, Motorex isn't the only legal importing company in the US... besides y go to them when there's one in @tlanta. Try Shouri MotorSports. Unless u got money to spend, i'd prefer getting just the chassis of any R32, R33, or R34 and just getting a motor and u'll come out alot cheaper. Plus, getting it inspected if u plan to do that will make it alot easier bcuz u didn't receive it complete with motor and all installed. If it was, ur registration would be anywhere from $1 - $20,000. Believe me, CoolCatRacing told me.

so you're sure that MotoRex isnt the only one anymore who can do the R34? Because I know there are other importing companies, but to be able to get them inspected and street legal, you have to subject atleast 5 of whatever the vehicle is to get crash tested... like I said, I know until about 2-3+ years ago, MotoRex was the only company that had done that.

R34 is the shit for a reason...You can get one for around $40,000+ or so, with the cost of the car, the $5,000 MotoRex fee, and $1,000 shipping fee...they're pretty quick getting you the car from what I've been researching, about a month after you purchase the car and get it shipped to them.

yep and as far as i currently know, you cant legalize them anymore since they got busted because they falsified documents and those cars never really got approved.

Whatever, I'd have an R34's kids. There are some on ebay every now and then, and I think that's as good as it gets unless you move to a country that'll take them.

No one does them any more. The only way to get a legal one is to find an old Motorex car. You could always go gray market and get "state legal" or "kit car".

"Kit car" would be your best best. Get a shell then get a motor and slap them together.

If you want one, have the money, and are serious, I can get one for you. I just got my R32 GTR, recently, which is probably the cleanest one in the country. Titled, insured and registered. NO. Not "federalized." But about as legit as one can get without going that route. PM me if you're interested.

You can't get one that has crash testing anymore. Motorex fucked that up for everyone and they have the approved plans that they bought in the first place. The only thing you can do is get it as a "kit car" and then it's still shady. The gov't is aware of the deal with the Sklylines. The didn't used to be so savvy. You can find Skylines all over in the states. Most of them aren't legally registered. Sure they are driving them. I know someone who has one titled as an Acura. Ok until he gets caught and loses $60k.

Look all you have to do is talk to my boy Moe. Moe's screen name is Sayajin he can get you a legal skyline. Its is actually about knowing people and that is key. Moe has a gtr-33 and it is registered as a skyline. The company he deals with actually puts books out about the skylines they sale and other things. I know they are located in Texas, but give him a pm and he will get back to you.

Ahhh my long lost buddy Quick Dodge, the one who must be green with envy. For those who are interested, I have the proof of the pudding. I've got the car and the title and the insurance. Oh and not to mention, you can contact Keebler on here, who bought my old R33 GTS25t, last year. He can vouch for me. Anyways, if you are really interested in picking up a skyline or any other JDM vehicle, I can point you in the right direction. I don't do it myself, but I do know some very reputable people in this niche market who can help you out! Below is a pic of my car, except I don't have the nice Advan wheels, just stock ones.

The R34 was never legalized, MotoRex bought the confidential crash test results of the R33 and got the R33 federally legal...BUT then they were bringing in R34's and R32's as well under those same results saying it was the same car. Not only were they illegally bringing in the R32 and R34 but they weren't even doing the conversion process that did make them legal: the NHTSA, DOT, & EPA caught on to it and stripped them of their license. They've been closed since March 2006.
