350z/G35/RX-8

I have a Stat project I'm doing with my friend, and it's due Thursday. I was just wondering if you guys could help me out and take this poll. I didn't really know where to put it, and I don't really mind if you guys explain why you picked which one you did.

It's just for a project so pick the one you like most.

I wouldnt buy a rotary car. And the G35 is essentially a nicer 350Z. So G35 FTW.

As much as I love the handling of the RX8, it just don't have any balls. Or good fuel mileage for that much. I don't really care much for the 350Z's styling, but I drooled over the G35 coupe when it first came out. So that's my choice. Besides, the G35 gets better gas mileage anyways

It's weird though, out of the 6 votes on IA that I've gotten, all are for the G35 and I'm guessing they're all guys.

But when I polled people in person, most guys chose the 350z and the girls chose the G35...

The Rx8 is no where near as fast as a Z. The Z has 305hp and weighs 3404 lbs. The Rx8 has 232hp and weighs 3045 lbs. The Rx8 does 0-60 in about 6.6 and the Z is right around 6 flat.

That being said, I voted for the G. The Z is slightly faster stock, but no where near as nice.

could have been different kits. if you have exact same parts/tuning on each a 350z and a G35, the 350z will always have a slight power advantage due to less weight.

a 350z IS a g35 and 200+ lbs.

my Z makes 287hp, made 247whp, my Z (touring.. heaviest) with a full tank of gass weighed in @ 3290 w/out me in it.

and best and last.. nissan claims 5.5 0-60 times..
Motortrend and Car and Driver have both beat those times.

my intake/exhaust 350z beat a turbo RX8 (forgot what bolt on kit) from 70mph - 150mph by 1 car...

a G weighs 34XXlbs.. the new 306hp motor is underrated... i've alerady seen 4door G35 times with that motor... best i've seen ran was a 13.99 @ 102mph... thats pretty damn impressive, its more like a 330hp motor.

btw.. RX8's never made that power.

every single one i've witnessed on the dyno put less than 200whp down.. all fall @ about 180-190whp.

I'll take the RX-8. It's easy to make power for cheap, and you start with a better balanced car. I've driven supercharged 350Zs, turbo 350Zs, and stock Zs. All are nice, but heavy. You really can't go wrong with any of the 3.

There was an emissions control thing on the RX-8 that riched it up when it sensed it was on a dyno or emissions wheel causing it to produce super low numbers in HP so it would pass wasn't there? I distintcly remeber hearing something like this when it was released and there was a giant stink over dyno numbers compared to the ones Mazda was claiming.

The RX8 is about as fast as the Acura RSX type S, which isn't very fast at all

I'm a guy and I voted for the G35 because it's the only car that I don't dislike out of the 3.

i voted for the G35. it's absolutely gorgeous, has plenty of luxury but is still sporty and quick. the transmission of the one i test drove was silky-smooth, which was nice. 350Z's are nice, but i just prefer the styling of the G35. RX8's are great looking cars and handle extremely well, but they're underpowered. slapping a turbo on a Renesis will give it a lot more power, but it doesn't respond nearly as well to forced induction compared to the 13B-REW because of the exhaust ports. just my $.02.

I vote against the G35. That thing is a pos, ugly, slow, expensive, mods are ridiculously expensive as well. Get anything else but a G35.
