Yeah I just dont get 350z guys. For some strange reason they think that the 350z is the best. Nissan just needs to take the letter z off the name. Cause everyone knows who the REAL Z is.....z06

Its getting to be where there are almost as many 350z's on the road as mustangs. Thats why I bought an S2K. It may not be as fast in the top end but its a little more unique.

Yeah I agree.. everywhere you look you see 350z's. Trust me you made a good choice going with the S2k. Just go to the track with that car and watch how it performs compared to the Nissans.

lol there are just as many s2k as 350z..

anyhow, not to get off topic, what other shops are there that dyno tunes?
i heard street tune is just as good, if not better, if tuned well.

its supposed to mimic real-life factors and whatever.. i dunno.

Can you hold the throttle exactly at one rpm while driving down the road, plus look at your wideband O2 guage, plus adjust the laptop - all at the exact same time? Do you have datalogging? If you answer no to either question - rent a dyno. It's cheaper than a car wreck.....

Spend the money and do it right. Use street tuning only after you have it pretty much on the money.

don't forget tuning timing on the street is pointless since you can't see gains/losses...the butt dyno is very deceptive.

This is way BS. There are almost 12 times as many 350z's on the road in the U.S. Look at the productins numbers. 5000 s2k's are shipped to the U.S. on average every year. Thats about 100 per state. They produce over 35,000 350z's in one of however many combinations they have 6 or 8 ??

    # of 350's made vs hondas who cares, back to the topic at hand, shariff and his guys do some quality work but dont be so quick to think that just because they specialize in 350's and g35's that's where their knowledge ends. Shariff's rep precedes him in the tuning world and i have heard nothing but good things from him. Talk to some of these tuners a little more in depth on the direction you are wanting to go with the car, its hard for someone to just shoot you a number of how much it will cost with a vague idea of what you want to do with the car .
And yes the prices around here for tuning arent quit as cheap as some other states.

With all of the imports in this area I would assume that there would be a great number of qualified tech's and that the price would be lower than it is. I was wrong. Coming from Detroit michigan and considering its the motor city where muscle cars dominate the cost is much cheaper. I have actually found someone for the install and not the tune. He is only going to charge me 400 dollars for the install. I can then have it trailored to the tuner and finish it there.

I think someone mentioned earlier...cost of living Higher here in the Atlanta area than a lot of places. BTW, there are about 50 tuners in a 30 mile radius here. Try google if you haven't already.

    dyno time is dyno time.

look on honda-tech, there was a thread about "what does your dynotuner charger".

THE STANDARD/AVERAGE rate was $140/hour. some guys charge a minimum $500 to tune a car with standalones (AEM, motec).

not saying your wrong, but i think any shop charging $63/hour to TUNE A CAR is unheard of.

I said the install not the tuning. "He is only going to charge me 400 dollars for the install. I can then have it trailored to the tuner and finish it there." And trust me the cost of living in the Detroit metro area is about 25% less then it is down here. I'm over in Athens with a pretty fat apartment for under 450 a month. I couldn't touch this in Michigan for less than 650.

Where did I say 63$ an hour to "tune" I said "half" and when I said that it had NOTHING to do with tuning... There is a difference between dyno time and tuning on a dyno time.

$400 for installing a turbo kit on an S2000 is CHEAP, like backyard bob cheap, like, youll end up towing it somewhere else to have it run correctly cheap.

so if everyone is telling you $1000-1500 to install a turbo kit on an S2000, an someone says "hey i can do it for $400" doesnt a red light go off in your head?

WE HAVE a TURBO s2000, i know what it takes to build one, i know what it takes to make one make power. you are not getting a QUALITY install for $400. sorry. not unless matt keller himself is installing it on the side. or your paying Turbo Dave or Dan at Batlground in beer money or cigarettes

it aint happening. whose this guy thats doing it, just curious. I really dont care that you found someone to do it that cheap, im just tryingto warn you. ive see nthis happen all too much. you take a $30,000 car with $10,000 in parts to get it all installed for $400.

doesnt make much sense does it?
