Default ***OFFICIAL RESULTS IPS K2s VS Skunk2 STAGE 2s***

Me and Chunky got a chance to settle a BIG DEBATE in the K series world. We were chosen to test IPS K2s vs Skunk2 Stage2s on Chunkys RSX motor.

    here are the results:
    IPS K2s BLUE
    Skunk2 Stage 2s RED
    STD

    SAE

    MOTOR SPECS:
    K20A2
    CP 12.5:1 pistons
    Eagle Rods
    Skunk2 PRO valvetrain
    RBC Intake
    Mainstream Performance/TDF CAI
    BORLA HEADER
DYNOED THROUGH OUR CUSTOM 3in EXHUAST

We tuned each cam for about 2 hours. The skunk2s took slightly less time as tehy werent as fickle as the K2s. The K2s liked much more multiple cam angles the skunk2s ran best at 30;40

THe k2s liked it rich, the skunk2 responded to leaner conditions. We tried leaning and richening both cams and the attatched af ratios is where each cam made the most power.

K2s win the midrange, Skunk2s win up top.

on that dyno i would take the k2's over the skunk2s anyday more midrange torque and mid range power. while your pulling all the way through the other guy is just got a little peak on you which doesn't mean crap in the same weight car the k2's would win.

When I get my car back with a working gearbox, I'm going to do some more street tuning and ignition tweaking. There's more power there. I just need to find it. Wish I could do the same for the k2's. Oh well.

true but in NA applications its harder to squeeze power. If it was turboed it'd be different.

$$ to HP ratio is alot more for all motor IMO. either ways both cams still perform well.....
