We need to actually run, I thought we were gonna do it after that dyno day but getting on the interstate we went over all that 4x4 off-road course shit. I had got on it but after seeing your car bounce around like it did I had to get back out....Im on h&r super sports with no iso's so I would have lost a few fillings from my teeth! Then when we got close together after that I dropped to third to get up next to you hoping we could do a 3rd gear pull and you pulled away and got off the interstate at the next exit. Your car was moving pretty good though. After you got off the interstate macon pd followed me for a couple miles right on my bumper....it was stressful to say the least!

Your right man I was actually trying to get a run with you it would have been cool, I did see u slow down after I went over all that uneven asphalt lolol...... We will get it done next time, I need a drop bad because when I cut through those cars I had to counter steer for all of the damn body roll I had. Terrible stock suspension. I also saw mpd getting on the interstate as I got off, I dont think it helped you none when theres a riced out 350z going 100mph that was near you lol

yea as soon as he got on the interstate he saw my car and that 350z and immediately glued his front bumper to my rear bumper.

well there is a big differnce between weight off a dam gto and a dam camaro who ever says u cant get into low11switheads and cams with a ls1 in a camaro or a trans am is retarded...

I just got around to watching that video of that 12.69@110mph ss. While impressive I can't help but wonder how stock that exhaust was. I've known plenty of people with ls1 camaro's and they all ran good times. infact I know of one right down the road from me that runs extremely low 13s however it is lightly modded. regardless I never said it was impossible I just don't think you are gonna take any old ls1 camaro and Damn near run 10's with nothing more than a cam and a set of heads. its gonna take intake and exhaust mods as well as suspension and tire setup to drive it to a low 11. its impressive that those motors can perform the way they do but it takes more than just heads and a cam to get that low 11. that's all I'm saying. there are guys on the mach 1 registry running in the 11's with cams as well but they also have port work, full exhaust including longtubes, built rears, suspension mods, and a tire. one could say that with port work(heads and intake manifold) and cams my car could run 11s......see how stupid that sounds?

nah i talked to the guy to see if we were doing stuff wrong for him to be that quick and its where he is located he has went to other tracks and ran any where from a 13.2-13.0 at some off them it all depends on where the track is the weath ect and nah man heads and cam it is believeable for the reason u can get 550 fly wheel horse power out off a ls1 or more hell summit offers a heads/cam pakage...one off my buddys at the track has a camaro ss with a 3 73 gear,dr, and full bolt ons with nitrous, and a stall...puts down 350 horse power off the spray to the wheels on the spray puts down 502 to the wheels with his tune... and he runs 10.8s on a bonestock suspenion all he did was heat the stock springs up and thats all...he gets a 1.4 60' on the drag radials so i mean it all dempends on alot off stuff but saying a heads/cam car cant hit 11s u need to do more reasurch bud go on ls1 tech i mean i have seen bonestock ls1 cars with a full suspenion and the slp factory pakage witch is what alot off them have..with a full suspsenion run 12.2 to 11.9s but i mean thats a gear and a suspenion slicks but it is very believeable to see a ls1 car with heads and cams hit low 11s with ease i mean if u can get one in the 9.8s on a stock bottom end it is possible and im not cracking on anyones car or anything im just saying ls1s are power houses and it is all but very possible to just slap heads and cams on a ls1 and run high 11s as long as ur ss came with a 3 42 stock rear end u will get it

once again.....I never said its impossible.....I'm not knocking the ls1. I'm very aware of its capabilities. so let's agree to disagree....we obviously have different opinions on the subject and its not going to accomplish any thing to argue nonstop over what bolt-ons it takes to run low 11s. at least we can all agree on one thing.....the ls series engines are one of the greatest motors ever produced.

im not trying to be a dick or anything bro just do ur reaserch before ya start saying its impossible...i mean i didnt believe they had allmotor hondas in the 10 sec class till i saw it with my own eyes so i mean anything is possible if u now what ur doing....i mean if u want to get technical i could strip out a ls1 car get it down to 2950 lbs and have it bone stock and run it...chances off it being a 12 sec flat or better car depends on the driver area is great bc it is light so anything is believeable dude

ill throw in this bit of info, though not impossible, you gotta look at the lift on the cams, a small cam and general (non CNC or hi port) head setup isnt gonna run deep 11s, most street cam and head setups with a normal (average) driver will run mid 12s on stickies (drs not slicks) with stock suspension...but its def do able i mean on power block they did a head cam ls1 and went high 10s, wasnt a street friendly cam but it got there...im not arguing to either side just throwing this idea out there...good debate though ;)

lol yea as long as a car looks nice and gets u from point a to point b its all good.... ive had several hondas/chevys/pontiacs/fords i mean its all on what ya like anything can be fast if u put money into....the ls1s are my favorite motors bc they make power cheap and are reliable if u dont dog it out and u treat it well...

Matt, as far as I remember the SS have SLP exhaust and better flowing manifolds from the factory.

The HP difference comes from the ram air, which most people believe doesn't do anything, and the better flowing exhaust. If you dyno a z28 and an SS they should put up almost exact numbers.

True. Also have to take into consideration that the 01-02 LS1 cars had the LS6 intake factory... and the one in the video was an '02 35th anniversary (probably 345hp package car).
