I have been trying to get people to watch these videos. This gives you an idea on how our monetary system has placed one of the biggest handicaps on the growth of man kind. In the second half of the 2nd movie (Addendum), he pushes the idea of the Venus project which seems to be the only solution to all of the shit that he explains throughout the video, the only thing is, it would have to be created under a monetary system, hence never going to happen(Def. not in the this generation). Debt in this fucked up economy is always going to be greater than the money that is usable.

I've had some pretty long conversations with Rick about this, and even if the idea of The Venus Project was accepted, there's no way it would be completed during our lifetime. To completely change the world's social system could take hundreds of years.

But let's say tomorrow the entire world agreed (we all know that wouldn't happen, because religious and rich and/or powerful people will strongly be opposed to this)...but let's say it did. I still speculate it would take 3 generations to truely learn how to live in this society.

So...it's difficult to motivate people to support it, since it will never ever be seen in our lifetime.

Personaly, I'd rather dedicate my life to something meaningful than continue to work in the fucked up situation our world is in right now, even if I never fully benefited from it.

Honestly man, the Venus project is a beautiful theory, but it will never ever, EVER happen, in any lifetime...unless they were able to genetically engineer humans with certain traits only and place them on a Venus project planet, completely away from any and all corrupt humans and basically generate an entire new species. I don't even know what I should dedicate my life to in the next few years...the whole 2012 thing is not looking too good either...if you know about that stuff.
