you may not see much in the car, but you learn shit about the driver. and a lot of the times, the driver is the only thing that matter.
I've gone to the track, run 10's and cut 1.5-1.6's all day long, yet my car doesn't hook on the street, and has a good chance of breaking the diff cover if I launch on anything but an EXTREMELY SOFT compound tire. So usually, the times (in the past) I've street raced, I went from rolls. If you have a good bit of power, then that will always be an issue. I know guys with 900whp Vipers that run single digit ET's, yet only run from a roll on the street, simply because it's too difficult to leave the hole. I've found myself in the same boat many times. It was no indication of driving skill whatsoever.
