I've gone to the track, run 10's and cut 1.5-1.6's all day long, yet my car doesn't hook on the street, and has a good chance of breaking the diff cover if I launch on anything but an EXTREMELY SOFT compound tire. So usually, the times (in the past) I've street raced, I went from rolls. If you have a good bit of power, then that will always be an issue. I know guys with 900whp Vipers that run single digit ET's, yet only run from a roll on the street, simply because it's too difficult to leave the hole. I've found myself in the same boat many times. It was no indication of driving skill whatsoever.Originally Posted by Tran
