Watching a video about Evo's made you want a Subaru?

That was the Powell's car from Oklahoma. They are pretty good friends. The guy is really nice and it's him and his son as a team. Really lucky to have a strong family team like that! They WILL be in the 8's in 09... no doubt. As will David Buschur and his daily driven Evo. I'd just be happy with a mid 9! I'm sure Phil is thinking the same!

Not a dumb question. I usually drive around the water box and do a heavy footed launch to clean the debris off the tire and to get them as warm as I can. Other wise, side step the clutch and get ready to hit the clutch and brakes

Not as easy as you would think. It still takes practice. You cant just dump the clutch off the 2 step and have it be perfect.

So technically cant a awd cut a better 60' then a rwd? I just wonder why some drag cars arent experimenting with awd technology?? I seems that 4 wheels is better then 2 IMO. But thats with my limited knowledge of racing.

Properly setup AWD cars will cut high 1.4's, but properly setup RWD cars will cut sub 1.4's.

    RWD>AWD

There is a lot more moving parts in an AWD system to make it move than a RWD. Plus you have more drivetrain loss in AWD based on the components (diffs, tcase, etc).

If you pan that pic to the right you would see a silver Evo about 2 cars in front of you.

BlackIX, thanks for posting that video link. Evolunchbox is a friend of mine and sent me a link to this website. Thanks Nick. We appreciate the comments about the car. Yesterday I was reviewing the logs of the 9.20 pass and we lost over 2 tenths of a second on the 1-2 shift. Normal is .2-.25, but this was about .45 which caused loss of spool down to vacuum between the shifts and spool up back to normal took about 5 tenths longer than normal. Run could have easily been 8.90 or better. Also it spun again in 4th gear at about 120-125, so a little more traction could have made it even better. Anyway, thanks for the comments. It's nice to know that the car is appreciated in the Atlanta area. We hope to be able to make a trip down South this Winter, if all works out. Car currently has a 5 point, but goes to T1 Race Developement in Dallas this Monday morning for completion of a full cage and 'chute. Thanks again. tom

I could only hope. My wife already has it on the 'other' thread, although she doesn't use it. Just spoke with T1 in Dallas. We're putting off this Monday due to potential weather moving in. Also, Tony stays pretty busy with cages and full builds on Hondas/Acuras. Hopefully, we'll get it in and completed soon.
