morning!! hope everyone has a great short and sweet week at work. ya.update on the car: was supposed to have it back last monday but these ppl are idiots. they were actually gonna replace one OUT of FOUR yellow konis with an oem shock. wtf! so i argued that. now they found out the strut plate is bad..mazdas have these!! my steering pin (can u believe that shit is 900$) is BAD rear left hub bad camber link BAD and they have to redo the 4 wheel alignment because the dumbasses didnt realize my left rear hub was bad.so theyve been driving my car around with a bad hub. wtf! im SUPPOSED to get it back today but im not getting my hopes up.

I'd love to do a complete 2003.5 MSP Spicy Orange conversion but considering that they are discontinuing the production of certain parts, it's becoming increasingly expensive to do it. That can change. I'd like to stay around 15. 16 at the very most. tire size don't matter cause I can have spacers added or whatever and from the pic in my profile, I can drop still another 2 inches and raise another 4 inches or so. So, car won't be sitting like it is now.

Here is basic idea, the more I drive the car and think about it, the more I think about keeping it. If I keep it, my final goal is to hit a magazine with it. The H22 will have a forged bottom end, on boost. I'll finish what is left of the suspension. paint, carbon fiber, and redo the interior leather and suede. That's the basic idea of it. I am just trying to get ideas for different things. Was thinking like a BBS 3 piece wheel or something. Just not sure what would look good on the del sol body style.

Slight stiffness? I would venture to say they had more than slight... They get on my nerves sometimes on a bumpy road. But, around turns or anything else, they are great. No, the shocks are not adjustable that I am aware of.

If you do a parking lot shoot, don't everyone ride it at once, or you'll get kicked out cause security doesn't allow it. If you ride up about 30 seconds to a minutes apart, drive slow, and don't act suspicious, they'll never say anything.

thats the thing im not to sure what kinda compression to run..i dont want it to low..yet i dont want it to high and risk blowing my motor..im still very fresh when it comes to boosting a motor..its easy for some ppl just to get new pistons and rods..for a bottom end..but im tryin to see what will give me more power..and yet be reliable ..this is what i do all night..stay up and read about motors lol

Lower compression will give you more power in boost, but will lag more (depending on build) I think 8.5:1 or 9:1 would be a good medium for you. Won't lag too much, but will hit boost hard. Now, on the other hand... A few people I know with DSMs are running 11.5:1 compression on 20 psi but tuned on E85, it allows for higher boost on a higher octane without detonation... But, it all depends what you want. A GOOD tune will help in the reliability of whatever you go...


With my H22 bottom end, I plan on going 9:1 compression. With that and the displacement of the motor itself, it spools quickly and has a little more torque, but is still great when in boost. (for those who are going to tell me h22 are bad for boost, the block I am looking at is already sleeved and has forged internals)

I agree with the 9:1 compression. my red teg is boosted with cp pistons and 9.75:1 compression. the block has been sleeved and all and has been tuned up to 28psi safely. BTW I'm working with LS's too. they make CRAZY torque!!(but traction sucks!!) lol

yes, apparently it is. Pulled this from honda tech:

Yes it can be done. I have it done on my 96 accord. However, I have been thoroughly annoyed by the fact that since the h22 head is wider than the f22 block the outside of the oil return holes on the front and back of the block don't line up. If you want to see this exactly, go buy an f22 and h22 headgasket and line them up. Besides the fact that you have to put about an 1 1/2" of JB Weld in the outer return holes near the timing belt to make it work at all without dumping oil down your block.
With an f22 head gasket, the engine leaks about a quart every two months. Not too much but annoying. Here is what else I had to change:
--I had to buy an h22 main crank timing belt sprocket ($50) and water pump and take the pulley off of the new water pump and press it on the old f22 pump (h22 sprocket on f22 pump)
--added length to the Intake Air Temp wire (about 12") because it is in another location on the h22 intake
--used the f22 Throttle body (I am turbo'ed)
--bought the h22 timing belt
--had to jimmy-rig my powersteering holder with only 2 bolts instead of 3
--And I still have a P1382 code because the h22 dizzy has a bad mag. sensor in it. To replace the sensor, I have to buy a new dizzy.

After all of this, it still leaks oil. So. My advice. Unless you want to be in a shop for a year and a half messing with this pain in the A**, don't do it.

I would just dump the entire motor if I hadn't just bored it out and put in toga rods and arias low compression (8.0/1) pistons. If anyone has a nice f22 head they want to trade for a h22 head with ferrara racing stanless steel valves, PM me.

Yes it can be done. I have it done on my 96 accord. However, I have been thoroughly annoyed by the fact that since the h22 head is wider than the f22 block the outside of the oil return holes on the front and back of the block don't line up. If you want to see this exactly, go buy an f22 and h22 headgasket and line them up. Besides the fact that you have to put about an 1 1/2" of JB Weld in the outer return holes near the timing belt to make it work at all without dumping oil down your block.
With an f22 head gasket, the engine leaks about a quart every two months. Not too much but annoying. Here is what else I had to change:
--I had to buy an h22 main crank timing belt sprocket ($50) and water pump and take the pulley off of the new water pump and press it on the old f22 pump (h22 sprocket on f22 pump)
--added length to the Intake Air Temp wire (about 12") because it is in another location on the h22 intake
--used the f22 Throttle body (I am turbo'ed)
--bought the h22 timing belt
--had to jimmy-rig my powersteering holder with only 2 bolts instead of 3
--And I still have a P1382 code because the h22 dizzy has a bad mag. sensor in it. To replace the sensor, I have to buy a new dizzy.

After all of this, it still leaks oil. So. My advice. Unless you want to be in a shop for a year and a half messing with this pain in the A**, don't do it.

I would just dump the entire motor if I hadn't just bored it out and put in toga rods and arias low compression (8.0/1) pistons. If anyone has a nice f22 head they want to trade for a h22 head with ferrara racing stanless steel valves, PM me.

I was n the hhr yesterday night at 9pm driving up400 to 285... On ramp from 400 to 285 was all ice snow I slowed down turned next thing I know I was sliding up the whole turn with out gas lol was fun but scared I was gunna crash the rental car.......
