You get more of this the farther south you go. It is not as bad up North where diversity is more welcomed.

I disagree there. I've felt that there was more racial tension the farther north I go. I think here in the South you can say that we have gotten use to each other. While up north were you have less minorities they still collide.

For example one of my good friends is black. He goes to Georgia Southern and is friends with 2 of the most redneck tobacco chewing country boys that are from the middle of nowhere South Georgia. And in that gruop of friends consists a rich preppy frat boy and a white boy who wishes he was black and talks more gangster than Tupac. We all get along too.

Now we do make racial jokes at each other but it's like your friends laying a "Mamma" joke on you. You know they mean nothing by it but are wanting to yank your chain.

And by the way. Usually the ones who see a white girl with a black guy and make comments about them are usually the ones with the John Deere stickers on the back of their 2008 fully loaded Chevy pick up truck with $10k in lift mods and 10k in stereo equipment and try to be Redneck(Despite they live in Sandy Springs, Grayson, Alpharetta, Duluth, and drive a $50k truck) and talk about how they hate "The Nword". Have to disagree with you there. I've lived down here for 12 years and never seen anything like this. I've heard people even talk about the "culture shock" when they moved here. I"m sure there is tension up north, but its not a great.

I actually am going through this now. All my life I have had more black friends than anything else. I have dated everything under the sun b/c I dont discriminate but the other day at Walmart I was so hurt by the glares that I received when I was with my baby (he is black). I actually majority of the time end up attracted more to white males than I do black men. Its I'm honestly attracted to light colored eyes, and lighter skinned tones...and white guys with a slight natural tan. I'm in to guys that are tall, and play sports. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I find a black guy like that, but white guys tend to be educated more so majority of the time, and that turns me on. They tend to be more focused on what they want in life.


As far as dirty looks, wow. I get those a lot when I'm with my male friends that are white. I actually applaud interracial relationships, and I secretly smile when they walk by. Too many times people give up the one's they truly love because its not the social "norm" and then 10 years later they are getting divorced from the "right" person after having numerous extra-marital affairs. Interracial dating leads to genetic diversity which in turn propagates the human race. Ashkanazi jews (jewish people of european descent) who have children together are 100 times more likely to have a child with tay sachs disease who doesn't live to be 2 years old. Is that there fault...no it was the fault of a psychotic dictator who thought the killing of 6 million people would benefit the world and instead created a genetic bottleneck. Should they date outside their "race" probably or at least they should get genetic counseling before they even have children. She has a thalassemia trait which appears to be anemia to those not looking for it but I know that my kids (she's pregnant with our first) will never be in danger because of the autosomal recessive qualities of the disease. All in all genetic diversity is a good thing, but if you don't want risk upsetting the social "norms" I really couldn't care less.

I actually majority of the time end up attracted more to white males than I do black men. Its I'm honestly attracted to light colored eyes, and lighter skinned tones...and white guys with a slight natural tan. I'm in to guys that are tall, and play sports. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I find a black guy like that, but white guys tend to be educated more so majority of the time, and that turns me on. They tend to be more focused on what they want in life.

I go to USC, i will be at UGA in the spring. And i am a catholic, i took my mother's religion since she put her foot down and instilled it in me from a young age, its something that seperates me from the family that lives here who are all baptist, something they really don't understand and i know critisize behind closed doors.


I will agree that it has gotten better, but i think the point is though that it is still majority frowned upon. I agree though that i think it will be rare that a family will disown someone for it, but it will for sometime always seperate them and will be talked about whether its to your face or not.

I will be honest with you, i would hope for the "easy" way out that my daughter would bring home a white guy so that i wouldn't have to adapt, not because i hate the guy. But i would want the son i never had who i could relate to.

I go to USC, i will be at UGA in the spring. And i am a catholic, i took my mother's religion since she put her foot down and instilled it in me from a young age, its something that seperates me from the family that lives here who are all baptist, something they really don't understand and i know critisize behind closed doors.


I will agree that it has gotten better, but i think the point is though that it is still majority frowned upon. I agree though that i think it will be rare that a family will disown someone for it, but it will for sometime always seperate them and will be talked about whether its to your face or not.


And i'm not surprised it has the most interracial relationships, probably because the south has the most minorities, black people and hispanics being the majority of that.

I will be honest with you, i would hope for the "easy" way out that my daughter would bring home a white guy so that i wouldn't have to adapt, not because i hate the guy. But i would want the son i never had who i could relate to.


I think we can all say we would rather have what we are familiar with when it comes to making a family.


But then again i think that is all subject to change if you meet someone outside your race who you fall madly in love with. If thats the case then you should be willing to overcome any obstacles for them, and thats just something i haven't experienced but am completely fine with.

I agree with all those statements. It would take some time to adapt to the most common differences like religion(im probably one of two black catholics on here lol), cultural customs and even morals.

Yup and my best friend in college. We were in Toronto getting a bite to eat when this chick visiting from NY came up to me and starting going off on me about how it wasn't enough that "we" (as in white girls) have everything that now we need to tread into their "territory" and take the few good black men that are left after jail, drugs and guns. My friend is from Nigeria and told her off telling her that her behavior is exactly why any "good" black man would run away from her and that nobody wants that kind of drama. Race has nothing to do love. I've dated interacially and its no big deal. If your happy. F*uck what everyone else says. Even if it is your own family. I disagree with the fact that it's all about how you were raised. My dad is racist. I am in no way like that. In fact, I am very open minded. I have 3 sisters and they all date only black. I haven't ever dated a black person, but I have no problems with it.

Race is not a problem to me. I am Japanese and currently engaged with Chinese/ Vietnamese girl. I am the first in my family to being engaged with a different kind .
