It's okay, I'm rather interested myself since I'm a Honda noob...
well im not a noob .... jus i own a 1995 an really dont mess with obd-0 blocks .. but im trying to mate a y8 head with a d16a1 block and a s40 tranny together ,.and dropping it in a hatch .. i want to know if all this will bolt up from someone who knows ....... need this info b4 tommrow ........

Can't mate the head to the block, even though its based off of the single cam D-series...one of the bolts won't work or something. I forgot because my friend told me and he tried it but it didn't work so thats something thats not going to work. I believe the hydro tranny and cable tranny will work on it...as long as it was made for D-series though. But I could be mistaking...
i heard there was a special bolt you use ...

if thats the case how much u want for this head and is there anything wrong with it ???? lol if u have a z6 head you really need to try n mate it to that block .. y8=obd2 ... i think a z6 would mate to it ...

Well, I haven't disassembled the head but it should be good. Dunno, I might have a buyer on this whole thing, if he flakes then I'll let you know. Not really sure bout mating a z6 head to it, going to have to do research before I decide to part out like that...
bump...did research...no way you can mate a sohc vtec head to a dohc d series motor. you can do it to the sohc zc motor all day though. lol

The pistons/rods/crank will work though in any d-series.
If you want to build a monster, use a a6 block, D17A1 crank/rods, and get some aftermarket pistons. If you bored it out to a 79MM, or got it re- sleeved, the motor would be about a 1.85L SOHC
