oh, rush, i used a profec b til it locked up, overboosted, and blew my engine. 31 lbs on a 24 lbs tune is not good!! new setup boost will be setup and controlled by the aem just like chris(aap) does with his race car.

Im on my 3rd profec b II, these things suck! Im still not sure if it is setup wrong or just F'd up again. But I do know what you mean about overboosting, but mine is just not boosting at the moment!

I used to run a profec b on my 240. Its a cool, simple boost controller if youre running under 22 psi or so. Ive heard lots of stories of them going berserk and doing some unpleasant things over that. I run the AEM for boost control too, but it has its limitations...e.g. you have to have a laptop to change the boost (unless you toggle the program, which still gives you only 2 settings w/o a laptop.) Its also a big pain in the ass to get it setup properly.
I think one of the jap boost controlelrs...the blitz or the apex...has a gear dependant boost function also. I thought about trying one of those for a while.

whatup?!? i run the apexi on the sti. very nice unit but it is a pain in the arse with the wiring and all to run gear/speed dependent boost. but it does work very well indeed. the aem can also do this but it is just as involved

Shouldnt have to worry about overboost on an AEM car. Just set the boost cut up on it and that will never happen. A 30 dollar boost solenoid w/ the AEM is a good way to go. Easy to setup and adjust.

Dude, most of the cars in this thread are street driven cars that run 9's and 10's. We were all talking about getting out and running for fun, just for the heck of it. Give us some specs, I mean everyone knows what my car can do. The time I ran him, I was just running about 21-22psi about 500hp from a 10 roll and let off when I hit 3rd and had him by 7-8 cars. Why keep it on the "DL", thats like from the 90's when very few people had fast cars. Everyone shares what they have done to there car now days!

When I raced him before,even from a slow roll I put a bunch of car's on him,and that was with the auto and alot less hp. It became useless to keep running him!
So even so if he has an extra 200rwtq that will put him at what 600 or a little more? He is going to need alot more than that to outrun me.The torque will get off the line ,but the Hp will keep you going,and he dosn't have enough of either! Hopefully he will bring it out to the MCE track day on the 18th, that way all the question's and answere's will be final.

Remember his car before made 550/460 and it was cooled down, remember he doesn't have an intercooler, or nitrous/methanol to cool the intake charge down. And when he raced you he had worn out OE tires, passengers (Qty: 2, plus him), full system, 2 big Autotek amps, 2- subs, and box. Another thing once his car heat soaks, it doesn't make the numbers it should. I know it will be a much better run... car went on a diet, tons more power, steeper gear, and it has a new set on lighter wheels w/ ET-Streets

Cool, thanks for the info! Did he ever run it at the track before he did all this to it? Think its got 10's in it?
I have seen plenty of 500-600hp Gt's(99-04) running 11's and 12's at best.
Im not downing the car at all, cause it is a pretty fast lil car, its just I was out minding my own buisness that night and everybody was trying to get me to race him and I said yeah thats fine, and they laughed when I said I wanted to go from a dig, cause its not common for supras to go from a dig, but I guess they just over looked the skinnies and 325 mt drag radials... I actually heard one dude go to brandon and say he wants to go from a dig and laughed and said you will kill him. Also I will always let the other person get the jump on me, just so there is no excuse's afterwards. So its just hard for me to hear that I was called out and then I had to hear excuses about everything that is wrong with the car before we raced... you know what Im getting at?
We all pulled over at a Gas Station and talked for a few minutes and he said so this car is making 800hp, and I said well yeah when im on race gas and nitrous but I was only on pump and 21-22psi, but he thought I was pushing 800hp that night before we raced!


Also, Brandon was a cool/good guy, he's just like a lot of my friends....
