Precisely what I was thinking, but I should wait and make sure he gets his MOS before I go doing a military tribute. The Airborne Ranger logo would be perfect to cover up a circle design, but wouldn't want to go getting ahead of his graduation. I'll PM you a pic of the stupid tat along with some Army Wife designs I like and in your spare time maybe you could draw up a design to cover it.
