I did drop out of college when i was 20, worked for 10 years, made good money, now im back in school. I regret it honestly. The 10 years to me was a waste because i spent it in the car industry where there is no future and earnings are terrible. I gained a lot of small business experience, i know how to manage and run things, budget, do accounting, marketing etc but in the long run, id trade the 10 years of that for a 4 year degree.
I got a job in the IT field about 2 years ago, and the money is so good, it made me sick that I wasted a good portion of my life basically learning an industry that i despise now.
In march i was laid off from my IT job, and decided to go back to school and finish my degree in CIS. Im 32, last 2 years i made between 70-80k, now i make less than 20k as I try to finish school out. Its a sacrifice but it will be worth it in the end.
I feel like i tried 1 way for 10 years and got nothing, im going to do something different.
GET YOUR DEGREE
