it was probably a black rat snake, and they are good!!!!! they eat..... RATS!!! anyways..... i know the feeling bout being scared shitless by seeing something that u werent expecting like that.... when i was a kid i found a 5 footer and it scared the shit outta me, but we ended up catching it and all that good stuff, found out its a good snake and let it back go in the backyard..... id say just let it be, he will move on to new ground soon enough and is almost completely harmless to you, unless u piss it off LOL

update.. so it ended up being a black rat snake we believe, it was about 5-6 foot long, my neighbor took it and let it out somewhere i guess....i thought about going out and killing it, but figured id just get rid of it
