this is one of many, i forget who else in the middle east shot another one down and took it apart to duplicate it and sold it to the Russians (i think it was the Russians)

Yeah, we were spying on them flying in their airspace then... Big difference this time.

The drone was in international airspace east of Kuwait, U.S. officials said, adding it was engaged in routine maritime surveillance.

U.S. military intelligence analysts are still not sure if the Iranian pilots simply were unable to hit the drone due to lack of combat skill, or whether they deliberately were missing and had no intention of bringing down the drone. But as one of the officials said, "it doesn't matter, they fired on us."

What this means I dunno. As one incident it means nothing really, but it's part of a bigger picture.

If the drone really was in international airspace then next time I hope they have a couple F-22's up there to play chicken with the Iranians. If it was over Iranian airspace, this is simply the cost of doing business in the spy game.
