It's not about creating their "own shot" per say. The fact that duncan is a legendary mid range shooter leaves defenses terrified. Danny green, k. leonard, g.neal, manu, etc are GREAT shooters who consistently keep defenses honest. Imagine tony parker trying to run a pick and pop with blake griffin, lmao double team city! then he becomes 100x less effective, and imagine the APG drop.

tony is great. but something has to be said for playing with the best coach in nba history, best PF in nba history, and the best 6th man in nba history.

    Agree to disagree......

I'll take Parker over any PG in the NBA without thinking twice about it.

My "all nba" team would be Tony Parker, DWade, Durant, Duncan, Hibbert

If i'm starting a team from scratch i wouldn't. If I knew I had the best PF to ever play the game and they would play together over 10 years, then yes I would take parker. And if i knew the team would have the best coach and coaching staff in the NBA, yes i would choose parker then.

If i had no clue who the other players on the team would be, I would choose paul because i KNOW he's gonna do the best with that team that can virtually be done. whether its scoring, assisting, or being a great on ball defender when healthy. but honestly, when it comes to all the top 5 PG's, just choose one and you won't go wrong. and no deron williams isnt in the top 5, lol.... cause you can DEFINITELY go wrong with his over paid azz.

I just feel that offense from a PG is more valuable than defense from a PG. Paul is a great passer, great defender.... but a PG with the offensive prowess of a Tony Parker.... or Derrick Rose..... i think makes people lose more sleep than worrying about Chris Paul as a defender. As talented as Paul is, to me.... he just doesnt have "it". He's not the stone cold killer that Parker is. He cant put the team on his shoulders and carry them to victory. I know PG purest will loathe this statement, since assist is the "PG stat"... but ultimately, scoring will always carry more weight than passing to someone scores.

I feel like you are living 100% in the present, and completely ignore the obvious talent difference of their teams throughout their entire careers. Paul is NOT just a defender....

    CP3 career PPG Average-------18.6PPG
CP3 career PLAYOFF Average -20.9PPG and 9.5 APG

    TP9 career PPG Average ------17.1PPG
TP9 career PLAYOFF Average -19.2PPG and 5.3 APG

I love tony parker just as much as the next one, but its hard to ignore who he has played with and for VS who paul has played with and for. I mean come on, the 2nd best player on the clippers is Blake griffin. The spurs have 3 people better then him. And don't let me go back to those terrible N.O. teams..... they had a team one year, but against the dynasty spurs it was no contest in the end.

Significance matters........... you might as well be judging someone's preseason stats vs Tony Parker....

Chris Paul has never played basketball on the level that Parker has. Let's wait till Paul even steps on the stage before we start comparing the two. Right now the only thing you can argue is your opinion on what Paul can do on the big stage.... because he's never actually been near it. Tony Parker on the other hand...... he's got his bags packed for the big stage as we speak.

men lie. women lie. numbers never lie.......... those are PLAYOFF numbers if you didn't notice. He's one of 3 PG's in NBA HISTORY to average 20/10 ast's for their CAREER.

championships define how good your TEAM is, i hate that people are so simple minded they ignore that.

like i said before.... robert horry has more championships then lebron will probably ever have. means nothing....

The Heat... like Lebron.... come and go with their physical advantage. This Heat team cant out smart you.... they cant trick you, they dont out coach you...... if they cant jump over you or shove you out of the way, they lose.

    It's that simple....

If they're lucky enough to win game 7 and advance to the finals..... they are going to be playing the smartest, trickiest, best coached team in our lifetime.... led by THE Tony Parker and Mr Fundamental, Tim Duncan.
