I don't think so, Kobe is 6'6'? Durant is 6'10 many say 6'11".
Kobe can't get around that or fade over that. Kobe is still capable of being at the top(almost won scoring title), but he's definetly lost a step hear and there

My only problem with Kobe is his 75 shot attempts a game when he had bynum and Pau

He could fade all over durant. Durant lacks skill and ability. He's trying to play like a pg when he should be playing like a pf. Kobe is deff a lot wiser like I said he would make durango look bad. Durant just looks good right now because he's in the spotlight at kc.

I think you don't know anything about basketball.
Durant is too skinny to be a power forward, he's set up to be a small forward, shooting guard with his length and quickness. He just happens to be 6'10"
Durant lacks ability and skill? He is the scoring champion over Kobe, Ans beat Kobe in the playoffs.
Give the man some respect

Im also skinny but still played sf in high school. The ability to get position over the opposing player does not take size. I've bodied 6'10 ppl and im only 6'2 180. Kobe would murk Durant. Durant is good but not as good as kobe.. give Durant a few years... then maybe.

Your argument is this " if you dont agree with me its because you dont watch basketball"
you act like a kid, i call you a kid.
Parker, Rondo, Westbrook, Deron, Rose, Paul......... in no specific order...... can all make an argument for being the best pg in the nba. Youre offended by people thinking anyone is in the same league as Paul....................... on that list 2 are champions, 1 is a finals MVP, one is an MVP........ the other is about to play in the finals....
oh wait wait wait..... but one of them was 3rd in MVP voting..........
funny how you have so much confidence in the media selecting the best players.... yet you're in denial about Tebow being the only player in the history of football to win 2 maxwell awards............................. Tebow's stats dwarf his competition far worse than Paul. Unlike Paul...... nobodys stats are even remotely close to Tebows........
But i guess in that case... your wisdom trumps the media who "eat sleep breath and shit" football though right? why? because you are you.. and apparently you think your opinion holds some greater value than the next guy.
well..... news flash. it doesnt kid.

Obviously you don't know how to read. We've already took westbrook off this list of best PG in the nba.... I will refresh your memory, this is westbrook against CP3 HEAD 2 HEAD this season. Just to show you what a dominating pg can do against someone not of their skill level. The only people you could REMOTELY argue as being a better POINT GUARD, not player, is deron williams OR parker, but if you want me to show you them head 2 head against cp3 i will.... and i would really advise against saying deron williams, he averages 4 turnovers a game... definitely not something to brag about(from my pg).... here is westbrook again. look and read closely...
1. Thunder 77..... clippers 92
westbrook had 9 points in 32 minutes.....shot 25% from the field (4/16)... 3 assists.... 5 TURNOVERS
chris paul .had 12 points in 36 minutes...shot 42% from the field (5/12).... 10 assists.... 2 TURNOVERS
If you have 9 points in 32 minutes, you probably should have more then 3 assists..... dont you think?
2. Thunder 98..... clippers 100
westbrook had 20 points in 37 minutes.... shot 21% from the field (3/14).... 1/5 3pt shots.... 7 assists.... 4 TURNOVERS
chris paul had 31 points in 37 minutes..... shot 55% from the field (11/20)... 2/4 3pt shots.... 4 assists.... 1 TURNOVER
Westbrook had 11 LESS points and shot 34% worse then paul. and finally had 3 more assists. (with the leading scorer in the nba on his team)
3. Thunder 114 ..... clippers 91
Westbrook had 19 points in 35 minutes..... shot 40% from the field (8/20)... 1/4 3pt shots ..... 4 assists.... 4 TURNOVERS
chris paul had 13 points in 32 minutes...... shot 25% from the field (3/12) ... 2/7 3pt shots...... 10 assists.... 3 TURNOVERS
Westbrook only had 6 more points and took 8 more shots from the field? and had 6 less assists.... horrible shooting game from paul, BUT 10 assists will help.
4. Thunder 100 .... clippers 112
Westbrook had 31 points in 38 minutes .... shot 50% from the field (13/26) .... 0/3 3pt shots.... 4 assists.... 6 TURNOVERS
Chris paul had 26 points in 37 minutes .... shot 75% from the field (12/16) .... 2/3 3 pt shots.... 14 assists.... 2 TURNOVERS
Westbrook shot 10 more shots and make 1 more shot then paul.... missed all 3 of his 3 point shots, while cp3 make 67% of his 3 point shots. also managing to drop 10 MORE assists the westbrook and winning the game with a team not having the best scorer in the nba and the 6th man of the year!!! You really would take westbrook over paul?
Westbrook has the leading scorer in the NBA and he let the clippers go 3/4 against them.
Westbrook averages 3.8 more points a game, BUT takes 4.4 more shots a game then Paul.
Westbrook shoots worse from the field, 3 point, AND free throw line.
Westbrook averages 5.5 assists with the best scorer in the nba right next to him. CP3 averages 9.1 with trash on his team.
Westbrook averages 3.6 turnovers, compared to pauls 2.1 ...... remember paul also has the ball in his hands more, because he has no domincant scorer.
Westbrook averages 1.7 steals to chris paul's 2.5.....
Westbrook is a better rebounder.... 1 more a game..... thats a lot of other stats to give up for my PG getting one more rebound....
Westbrook's efficiency is lower then pauls.... 20.5 to 24.5
Summary: Thats A HUGE difference from the #1 ranked PG to the #2 ranked...CP3=#1 and Westbrook ranked #2... bring up the rankings from the other PG's people are bringing up in this thread.
HEAD TO HEAD..... westbrook averaged 5 turnovers a game against paul..... paul averaged 2 turnovers a game. Imagine durant with paul as his PG.

prove it. no i know how to watch all 4 games they played head to head. there is no pg better in the nba. so u HONESTLY think westbrook is better then chris paul, lmao. u are dumb as a box of rocks. and kobe better then durant right now, lmao. dumb as two box of rocks....
if you think westbrook is better.... look at how cp3 DOMINATED HIM THIS YEAR...... IGNORE ALL THE #'S IF U WANT, WATCH THE VIDEOS

at 4:50 look how he did westbrook. westbrook is trash compared to cp3.... name somebody else so we can compare them.... westbrook is not quick enough for cp3, look how cp3 did him again on the very next play..... look how he did durant at the 6:00 mark and durant is 10" taller

Dude, DURANT IS TOO SMALL(WEIGHT) TO POST UP LIKE A POWER FORWARD. GO look at the PF in the league, he would get muscled and man handled. He is a 6'10'' shooting guard , which is what makes him so good. He can drive and elevate over everyone, he shoots the ball like KG from the top peak of his jump and over his head making him impossible to block, he does have some back down moves against other guards/SF in the league, but he uses his quickness to get around anyone bigger than him.
Im 6' 200lbs and i play post all the time against bigger guys, but i use my footwork more than i use my size. But im also not 1/1000th as fast as Durant is.
How can you say NOT as good as kobe after he BEAT THE LAKERS AND WON THE SCORING TITLE OVER THE BLACK MAMBA?
Durant is better than Kobe is RIGHT NOW without a doubt. Durant was second in MVP Votes. Where was Kobe?

its a waste of time talking to your stupid fucking ass. You see what you want to see. Read what you want to read. You're objective when you want to be. You use stats when theyre in your favor and ignore them when theyre not. The same argument that you use for Chris Paul, you argue against for other players.
With Chris Paul you basically say " These are the stats, if you cant see them then you dont watch the game"
With other players you say "The stats arent real because i can see thru the stats to what is really happening, if you cant see behind the stats then you dont watch the game"
Chris Paul hasnt done shit, hasnt won shit.
He may be the best pg in the NBA.... he may be....................... but when the other PGs in the conversation are all fucking champions and MVPs and one guy hasnt done a mother fucking thing then my tie breaker goes to the people holding the hardware.
I mean technically they vote ALL NBA FIRST TEAM to establish guys who are the best at their position.
Position Player, Team (First Team Votes) Points
Forward LeBron James, Miami (118) 596
Forward Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City (117) 591
Center Dwight Howard, Orlando (75) 476
Guard Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers (104) 568
Guard Chris Paul, L.A. Clippers (74) 484
I dont agree with Howard being first team, i think i would have taken Bynum considering Howards injuries. But, i understand why.

Exactly. I'm not saying cp3 is the best in the nba. But he is the most impactful, dominating pg in the nba. With the ball in his hands, i feel better then anybody else from the pg slot. And with the pg position having the ball the majority of the game, thats a BIG deal.
BTW when they do these votes too, they factor what one position player did against the other player in the same position. example... what did bynum do against dwight and soo on..... but i think they gave him the nudge because his defense is much better then bynum, and bynum is lazy as hell a lot on defense.
I figured as much when you attempted to discredit Tebow's accomplishments. But good to see you say it.
You've been beating a dead horse with statistics this entire thread. You act like statics are the end all and only thing that matters..... yet you're in favor of Paul being higher on the MVP list than Love.... when both are the best players on insignificant teams.... but Love has better stats.
It depends on what stats you hold most valuable. General consensus is that assists are what a PG is primarily judged on. Is passing to someone who scores more valuable than someone who just scores? I can name PGs who "just score" better than Chris Paul. Derrick Rose is an MVP, not 3rd in votes.... but an actual MVP. Those who "eat sleep breath and shit" basketball thought Derrick Rose was the best player in the NBA...... making him the best PG in the NBA by default.................
His assist numbers are the poorest of anyone mentioned in the PG debate..... But he is a better scorer, just like Westbrook and Deron. Tony Parker could be..... but his season stats are skewed by a lack of needing to score. Not to mention that Westbrook shares the ball with the league's scoring champion. If Westbrook played for the Hornets or Clippers he may score 40 a game.
time to eat....... while i assume you're preparing your wall of stat text and linking youtube videos and such.......
Here's a parting shot.
Los Angeles Clippers vs. New Orleans Hornets - Recap - March 22, 2012 - ESPN Chris Paul out played by Jarret Jack on his first trip back to new orleans.
Last edited by Jdm94Coupe; 06-08-2012 at 11:39 AM.
The Clippers were held to 11 points in the fourth quarter as they shot 4 of 23 from the field. Los Angeles also missed its last 19 3-point attempts.
If he had hall of fame players to pass to, im sure they wouldve had more then 11 points in the fourth. Or better yet, the nba leading scorer next to him. That might help some. BTW are you now saying jack is better then paul as well?
Kevin Love is the best PF in the nba. Chris paul is the best Pg in the nba. What is your point? Are you saying that kevin love is more important to his team? They dont make the playoffs with him or without him. Without chris paul the clippers dont make the playoffs, with him they go to the 2nd round. Whats your point?
NBA Players Stats 2011-2012 - NBA Fantasy Basketball Stats
NBA Players Stats 2011-2012 - NBA Fantasy Basketball Stats
so you can make an excuse for only scoring 11 points in a quarter??? If Chris Paul is the god of all closers, how come he was held scoreless in the 4th quarter? No Jarret Jack is not better than Chris Paul..... but he out played him on that day, held him to zero points in the 4th quarter, matched his assists... matched his steals.... out scored him. So maybe Chris Paul isnt this infallible god of basketball and MAYBE................. JUST MAYBE................... we are worthy of at least comparing other players to him. Rose, Westbrook, Parker or Deron could have scored without having someone to pass to.
any elite pg would have an instant effect on any team in the NBA. this feat isnt exclusive to Chris Paul.
the Bulls were 33-49 before drafting Derrick Rose, theyve made the playoffs every season since.... were the #1 seed the last 2 seasons. Derrick Rose also won an MVP in the process.....
Tony Parker won a championship in his 2nd season. Maybe Tony Parker was the player that elevated the Spurs to being champions. Maybe Tony Parker is the driving force behind the spurs dynasty.
what happened the other 2 times they played? everybody has bad games, you know that. he is not the god of all closers, kobe has been games, durant has bad games. the point is he is the most consistently dominated pg in the nba. trust me, if you give chris paul a run for his $ one time, he will crush you the next time he plays you. with the exception being after when he was hurt in the 1st round of the playoffs.
im not saying he is a god, get real. but he does have the most game winning shots since 2007 until this day. and is in the top 5 in the nba EVERY single season in 4th quarter scoring. he is clutch.
i'll refresh your memory, since i know you didnt watch ANY of the 3 games against the hornets..... here are the last two. but im sure you will ignore them as well, btw 8 steals in a game does do something for being the best defensive pg in the nba, dont you think?
http://youtu.be/ZmemoHuwQ44
25points.10assists
http://youtu.be/QtjV0KaT7rY
33pts.13assists.8steals
and btw, just in case you forgot what a healthy cp3 against tony parker looks like, i will refresh your memory..... even though i kno u didnt watch him at new orleans either. this is fresh off tony parkers finals mvp (making him the best pg in the game, right?) doesnt look like it.....

At the end of the day the numbers dont lie, this is JDM's point and its the truth basketball is a team sport. Lebron haters and Kobe fans still did not answer the ? if Lebron was on the Lakers instead of Kobe would they still be in the playoffs. If you cannot make your teamates look better than they are your just a stat player this is Kobe problem the dude is a chuck wagonist what was wrong with his team this year.
Jordan made everybody on his team look good Hodges, Paxton, Kerr, Armstrong and the list goes on, Lebron was on a team who the second best player was Mo Williams and yall wanted him to stay. Remember he is still a young man he did make a bad DECISION but he took the beating like a man he did not snitch like a bitch (Kobe) Shaq screw hoes too, and he did tell everybody he dont care about the kids making his sneakers in china for $0.02 and selling them here for a $150.00.
last time i checked Tony Parker and crew bent Chris Paul over their knee 4 games in a row. In game 4, the only game the clippers were mildly competitive, Chris Paul blew their chance at winning when he turned the ball over and then followed up by missing a short shot. Not as easy to close when the games actually matter.
