get off the chris paul bullshit................................ I've seen Derrick Rose blow past Chris Paul so fast he fell on the floor. Speed isnt the only factor in "shaking" someone. If we're talking foot race speed, i dont think Paul is faster than Rose or Westbrook.

Everybody knows Chris Paul is good...... but you take it to a new level.

    11-12 season

Westbrook outranks Paul in some key categories, like POINTS, REBOUNDS, BLOCKS (PG AND BLOCKS????), Field Goals MADE. CP3 leads in assists and FG% and Steals.

They are pretty close. ANd in head to head matchups, Westbrook has outscored CP3 2 games to 2

What pieces can you realistically put around Lebron who will be any better than they are now? The Heat actually have a fairly deep cast of role players.... more than you would expect them to be able to have. Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller, Shane Battier.... those are pretty good guys to bring off the bench. If you combine Turiaf and Haslem's stats at C, they have solid "big man" numbers without even bringing Bosh's stats into the mix. Miller and Battier both spread the floor. DWade is one of the best isolation scorers in the NBA..... Chalmers is Chalmers.... but you shouldnt need a Chris Paul or Derron Williams running point to win with this team...... especially not when they have such capable ball handlers like Wade and Lebron.

Why is this team losing? Can anyone really produce an explanation outside of just "they dont have IT"

I dont wanna ruin first take for JDMCoupe, but stephen a smith was pretty correct, and i have been saying it all year too. Go watch teams that have won the last few years. From Dallas, to LAL, Boston, look at OKC NOW, etc.

They have heart. They have mental toughness.

The problem for me is Wade and Lebron are TOO GOOD of friends. Lebron isnt going to tell D Wade "STEP YOUR GAME UP WTF ARE YOU DOING" and Wade isnt going to do the same to Lebron. Miami plays UNSTOPPABLE when things are going their way, but their MO is out, KEEP IT CLOSE, THEY CANT CLOSE GAMES. They dont know what to do. Lebron isnt a killer, he is a tremendous 3.5 quarter player, but he isnt a closer like Wade, Kobe, MJ, Pierce, Melo, etc.

Go look at games WITHOUT WADE and look at the numbers Bosh an James put up. That is the formula for winning. WIth all 3 on the floor, its too hard to get other people their touches to win. ANd the other problem is their bench is just not good enough.

Mike MIller is a huge disappointment, hes severely injured. Haslem has played well but hes like a Perkins with a jump shot. Hes not a go to guy. Battier is too old. They need depth with a spot up shooter and transition 3 player.

they need Ray Allen, Stephen Jackson, Novak, that white dude from Orlando. They need some kind of perimeter shooter who they can count on and kick it too. They also need to lose wade, because wade an LBJ on the floor together obviously DOESNT work.

Twitter is trending that people want Riley to call Jim Buss and trade Bosh and Wade for Pau and Kobe. LOL

they are losing because they have no offensive set, its kinda like a pick up game. Zone kills them.

They dont have a true leader, they dont respect each other, and they lack mental toughness. If they dont score, they bitch whine and moan about a no foul call, if they play bad defense, they point fingers at the other players and get frustrated and play lazy transition Defense.

The 2 games to 2 points is not a smart move.

    1. Thunder 77..... clippers 92
    westbrook had 9 points in 32 minutes.....shot 25% from the field (4/16)... 3 assists
chris paul .had 12 points in 36 minutes...shot 42% from the field (5/12).... 10 assists

If you have 9 points in 32 minutes, you probably should have more then 3 assists..... dont you think?

    2. Thunder 98..... clippers 100
westbrook had 20 points in 37 minutes.... shot 21% from the field (3/14).... 1/5 3pt shots.... 7 assists
chris paul had 31 points in 37 minutes..... shot 55% from the field (11/20)... 2/4 3pt shots.... 4 assists

Westbrook had 11 LESS points and shot 34% worse then paul. and finally had 3 more assists. (with the leading scorer in the nba on his team)

    3. Thunder 114 ..... clippers 91
    Westbrook had 19 points in 35 minutes..... shot 40% from the field (8/20)... 1/4 3pt shots ..... 4 assists
chris paul had 13 points in 32 minutes...... shot 25% from the field (3/12) ... 2/7 3pt shots...... 10 assists

Westbrook only had 6 more points and took 8 more shots from the field? and had 6 less turnovers.... horrible shooting game from paul, BUT 10 assists will help.

    4. Thunder 100 .... clippers 112
    Westbrook had 31 points in 38 minutes .... shot 50% from the field (13/26) .... 0/3 3pt shots.... 4 assists
    Chris paul had 26 points in 37 minutes .... shot 75% from the field (12/16) .... 2/3 3 pt shots.... 14 assists

Westbrook shot 10 more shots and make 1 more shot then paul.... missed all 3 of his 3 point shots, while cp3 make 67% of his 3 point shots. also managing to drop 10 MORE assists the westbrook and winning the game with a team not having the best scorer in the nba and the 6th man of the year!!! You really would take westbrook over paul?

Westbrook has the leading scorer in the NBA and he let the clippers go 3/4 against them.

Westbrook averages 3.8 more points a game, BUT takes 4.4 more shots a game then Paul.
Westbrook shoots worse from the field, 3 point, AND free throw line.
Westbrook averages 5.5 assists with the best scorer in the nba right next to him. CP3 averages 9.1 with trash on his team.
Westbrook averages 3.6 turnovers, compared to pauls 2.1 ...... remember paul also has the ball in his hands more, because he has no domincant scorer.
Westbrook averages 1.7 steals to chris paul's 2.5.....
Westbrook is a better rebounder.... 1 more a game..... thats a lot of other stats to give up for my PG getting one more rebound....
Westbrook's efficiency is lower then pauls.... 20.5 to 24.5

Summary: Thats A HUGE difference from the #1 ranked PG to the #2 ranked...CP3=#1 and Westbrook ranked #2... bring up the rankings from the other PG's people are bringing up in this thread.

Westbrook trades assists for rebounds. I clearly think westbrook isn't as great as cp3, but I don't think he's far behind either.

He has positives cp3 will never have, and vice versa

Lol, come on now vteckidd. How important is 1.1 rebound a game? Cp3 is the 11th ranked pg in the league in rebounds, westbrook is 3rd with only one more rebound a game. Idk about you, but i think i would rather have 4 more assists and one more steal a game from my PG. And also westbrook averages a full TO a game more. But ok i'll drop it now, lol..... thanks about the podcast. im about to watch it now, had to get my nap on first.

btw CP3 finished 2nd in mvp voting in 2007 i think it was. behind kobe bryant, im sure CP3 isn't going anywhere!

it actually translates into alot, but i agree with you CP3 is a better PG, assists =points right? So averaging 4 more assists =8 points (4x2). Rebounds dont = points necessarily.

But Westbrook averages more points a game, on more shot attempts.

Im not arguing with you lol im just saying they both have a ton of positive attributes. If WB starts upping his assists because he can, he will be dangerous. He takes far too many shot attemots

yeah they would have been alot more deadly with Billups IMO I really like Mo Williams, he reminds me of Jason Terry.

Im interested to see their offseason moves.

did you watch First Take? Stephen A Smith said "BOSH/WADE for PAU/KOBE"

Looking like OKC may have pulled it off to represent the winning conference. Later, QD.

-12 with Bosh on the floor, +6 with Haslem on the floor.

You cant judge players by stats alone. Chris Paul is a stat machine on an insignificant team, Westbrook shares stats with Kevin Durant. You make it seem like having Durant on your team should improve your assist numbers? Every time Durant gets the ball in iso, does his own thing and scores... thats an assist opportunity that Westbrook doesnt get. Blake Griffin does WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY more for your assist numbers than Durant, the same way any offensive big man does.

Funny how you're such a stat junky when something is in Chris Paul's favor, but you laughed at Kevin Love being mentioned in MVP talks......because Kevin Love's stats shit all over Chris Paul.

He should've been in the top 10 in mvp talks. but he is the king of stats on a insignificant team like you say.

well he was third. face it. invest in league pass next year, and watch him dominate every pg in the nba on a nightly basis. dont just tune in when the playoffs start to watch his less skilled team lose to a superior team to his and assume he isnt better. last time i will say this. you dont get named to the all nba first team and all nba first team defense based on popularity. dominates every pg in the nba 99% of the time he is on the court. kevin love cant even take his team to the playoffs, no need to discuss him.

i watch the fucking games kid, i just dont see what you see....... Chris Paul is a great player..... but he has one hell of a hype train working for him. Chris Paul is not the undisputed best PG in the nba..... if you think this... then you're a Chris Paul dick rider. The top 5 PGs in the NBA all have a case to be #1.

Let me tell you something, you need to grow up and quit calling a grown ass man a kid. You EVIDENTLY do NOT watch the games, i will invite you to my house to watch cp3 dominate ANY pg in the nba you choose. I have every single game on my DVR. He dominated the entire season. #1 Pg on the all nba team
#1 PG on the all nba defensive team
#3 in the ENTIRE NBA in MVP voting..... behind ONLY LEBRON AND DURANT..... ignore all you want, the league and the people who eat, sleep, shit and breath the nba know he's the best PG.

NOBODY IN THE ENTIRE NBA FROM 2007-2012 HAS MORE GAME WINNING SHOTS IN THE LAST 10 SECONDS OF A GAME...... MOST CLUTCH PLAYER IN THE NBA

    Most Game-Winning Shots in Last 10 Seconds of Game (2007 – 2012)

Chris Paul 10 (3 such shots in 2012)

    Kobe Bryant 9

    Carmelo Anthony 8

    Dirk Nowitzki 8

    Dwyane Wade 6

    “Clutchness”:

No one is better late in a game than CP3. Don’t believe me? Paul is 3rd in the NBA with 369 points in the 4th quarter this season, which is a staggering 31% of his overall points. Everyone in the building knows that CP3 is going to have the ball at the end of the game, YET he is still shooting 50.4% from the field in the 4th quarter.

But let’s dig deeper…In the final five minutes of a game with the Clips ahead or behind by 5 points or less, CP3 trumps Durant and Kobe Bryant (and the rest of the NBA):

Playoffs are MVP Audition for CP3 : Court Crusades

Kid. I play basketball as I have for 13 years now. I think I know a lot more then you. You know so much man... its astounding... tell me how long it took you to google those facts? ? Lol

You watch while I play it.. stats arnt everything. A good pg doesn't make game winning shots or put up huge numbers. They lead a team to victory. He simple hasn't.

i play basketball as well. whats your point? a good point guard also doesnt just get assists and do nothing else, ie play NO defense.... rondo.... easy to lead a team to victory with 4 hall of fame players on it. i play, watch, eat, and sleep basketball. idk what playing basketball has anything to do with rondo not being better then chris paul. hell look at what cp3 did against him this year..... h2h is what u look at.... rondo has nothing for cp3.... all that sagging off 6 feet from him like miami does is not needed when you have cp3.... he gets in his face and fucks him up EVERY time he plays his wack ass.... look it up.....

4 hall of fame all stars that are washed up. With out rondo they would be like the lakers......out at home watching the other teams. Even if the Celtics beat the heat (which im sure they will) they will get their ass handed to them by the young and quick kc team. Idk why y'all are dick riding chris Paul anyways.. one man can't lead a team... obvious point... kobe bryant best player in the league.. (sitting at home)

Oh im sorry how many rings does he have...? Name someone in the league with as many as he has don't worry ill wait... Ohh and name someone who has second highest scored points in a game other then kobe (81). No other player in the league is close to his skill level. A few close but close doesn't cut it. If he had a big three like the heat does they would be on top every night... wade, Bosch, and labron... and they still can't beat a few wore out hall of famers lol kobe did it with odom and fisher and gasol.... enough said....

Durant is better than Kobe at this stage in their career probably, but that's comparing a 32 year old to a 23 year old.

I think it's no argument Durant and LBJ are at the top, followed closely by guys like cp3 rose love Wade melo d12 etc
