I'm pretty heavy on student loans because I'm not what could be called the best student in the world.
The question about whether you should get loans or not really depends. What is your major? Right now, I'm only really working one day a week because my classes aren't really easy. In fact, the engineering department recommends that we not try to hold down a job at all. When I was an undergrad at UGA and studying Economics, it wasn't too tough to have a job and go to school.
I happen to have a free ride (cuz the school is cheap) and I'm an indepentant student (MAN THAT HELPS ALOT, BUT IS HARD TO EARN.) Ohio took pretty good care of me. I'm majorin in Computer Engineering Tech. And I would rather not work, but I also dont like loading myself up with debt before I have to. But if its unavoidable, then I'll commit to it.

I answer the 1st part of your question. Since I don't have any experience with loans I don't know. Me personally, I work part time and goto school full time, but I don't recommend that unless you got good study and work habits.U didnt answer my question Dare.
