It's about 6 or 7 clubs having a war lol. All together it's 166 people. We r having the meet and greet, poker run, track day and car show. All over the next 5 months. Then there will be one winner or 09 and then we battle again next year.

yea every event is points based. There will be 4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl and turbo/supercharged classes. Top 10 in each class. It should be pretty cool. I'm excited.

I got in as 2A3x3A, served for a year in the 27th FS as a crew chief on 15c models, then we transitioned to 22s, I was hand selected by the base commander for the program and finished up my 4 years as a crew chief on those instead. (2A3x3K)
I absolutely LOVED my job, i couldn't get enough of it.
The only reason i got out is because the F22 program is such a "dog and pony" show i couldn't stand it. They expected us to be able to change a horizontal stab actuator and immediately afterwards go pass an open ranks inspection... just one example of many of what happens when upper brass gets their hands on the operations side of the table. Loved the work though, watching your jet fly is probably one of the most rewarding experiences of all time.
Now, working on 15s was another story. Long hours (14hr days was the usual), working in all types of weather (on the Chesapeake Bay)... expediters on your butt all the time. But i loved it. Want to talk about rewarding work... anyone who joins the airforce for a desk job is going to wind up depressed and talking to some shrink about the meaning of life.
Make sure your butt winds up on the flightline with the jets man, that's all i have to say. You'll be tired, beat up, and worn out at the end of every day... but it'll be worth it.
Judging by your AFSC, if i remember correctly, you'll be working with the heavy jets (130s, C5s, Globemasters, etc).
