Also did one of those ride along things at daytona in a nascar. I think that was about 180 ish. Didnt feel nearly that fast though because the track was so wide and open. A bit of a let down

Now for my own car, 130-140 (typically 136mph w/o traffic) but i've probably done it 800-2000 times, I has no idea
It is true though, I just have no desire to go flat out on the street unless the moment/area/car that's running away from me is just perfect. Also, I typically let off after turn 9 at Road Atlanta just because those extra mph's is more like a waste of brake pad now instead of the rush I use to get just getting everything out of the car at every second (unless I am running with people)

For those of us that follow racing, it is a Nascar and not a stock car.
Most real racing series around the world whether two or four wheels are referred to by the series they are in.
example: British Touring Car, World Touring Car, British Superbike, World Superbike.
It's all in the series name that makes them different because they are built form the same rule book but the series is what distinguishes the level of tech incorporated.
And don't get me started on why i refuse to call a Nascar a stockcar.
Because they aren't cars out of a car makers stock modified for racing? And have nothing in common with the car they "are"?
