Sacrifice performance? yes most knockoffs are heavier than the real thing, Saftey? bull**** how often to you hear of a knockoff wheel causing a wreck, it doesn't happen. Why would someone on a tight budget waste $3000 dollars on one part for their car? Does it really make sense to spend 2-3K $ on a car that cost 3K? Think about what you could do with all the money you save by buying knockoff wheels. Futhermore if you really want the best performance cheap you should run the widest most high performance tire possible on you stock wheels to save money.

    Spending 3K on wheels=fail
Cheap wheels that look good until you can afford expensive ones=WIN!!

    3k?
    No
you can get work XD9s/XT7/XC8 for like 1200.00
and the biggest tire is teh WORST idea ever. learn some about tires please.

buying cheap wheels to save money until you buy new ones?
WHy not jsut save up and buy ONE SINGLE set of wheels?
instead of wasting money on others.....that you end up reselling you loose money on.
if you buy Quality wheels, they normally retain their value.

sa far as safety....have you ever heard of a Work hub comming off a wheel?
ive seen a sportmax do it.....an idiot in japan with them did it at the track. mid drift the rear wheel separated from teh hub...it was still bolted on.

If you are going to respond to my post please read it correctly first. I never said biggest tire. You are correct that would be dumb. I said widest. If you are looking for pure performance putting the widest, stickiest tire on your stock wheel will often provide much better performance than a cheap tire stretched on a bigger, wider aftermarket wheel.

ACTUALLY road race cars have no stretch to the tires. having stretch=having no grip. the tire has to be able to flex to grip. thats the whole concept behind a tire.

this argument is another dumb subjective argument. there is plenty of good reasons to buy rotas instead of spoons. and do you know how many race wheels get bent on apex curbs? do you know how many affordable race wheels there actually is? why drop a bunch of cash on some bling bling heavy ass jdm crap wheels, if you can buy something non-bling and lightweight like team dynamics? because in your opinion, the bling jdm wheels are better. money is money. if you have the money to drop a ****load on rims, by all means go ahead. ill stick with the budget wheels even if i have the money for something better.
