I dont see why its an issue. If people want to talk, thats cool, if they dont.. doesnt matter.

    To answer the question.....,

some people race for $. If you're racing for $.. you're racing to win. Advertising a mod lists scares away slower cars and invites faster cars.

it gets tired... people dont just ask "whats in it?" anymore and accept the answer you give them. People start asking every specific detail as if you're theyre college instructor or some shit. Which may be entertaining for the guy asking, but when field the same questions constantly it gets old.

Like the other guy said.... if you advertise your car as X fast and lose to something you shouldnt have lost to. people laugh at you. also... if you're just trying to have fun and race... most people wont race a car they think they cant beat.

exactly...i have an insatiable appetite for competition and hate to lose, but it doesn't define me. I don't work my ass off and modify my car to prove im king ding-a-ling. i have no desire to race for money....therefore i have no desire for this to be serious, i don't get upset when stuff breaks, and i don't worry about what people think about my car or my driving skills. i've spent this entire year hearing the snickers and the bullshit from people who run their mouth and never race....saying my car should be faster...i mean for fucks sake i went 11.31@126 on et streets and full interior with a/c, p/s, and a whole lot of stock parts....but it didn't get me in a wad....just kept on doing what i was doing and hit my goal...

i dont pick on slower cars..... but i lay the bait for a slower car to pick on me... and at that point im not gonna send out a disclaimer or talk them out of it.

My car looks slow.... looks like the slowest car in the parking lot. If a kid in a civic walks up to me, makes a joke about it not being RHD or being fake ect ect ect... and talks himself into a race for $. I'm not gonna be the guy to pop my hood and say.... " see heres why you shouldnt race me "

i dont look for the slower cars, but i dont turn them away. No boyscout here.

when i race a slower car, thats usually the case. I dont talk shit, and when i call something out, its a fast car. If i dont see mustangs and corvettes in the lot, i usually go home.

I think we were posting at the same time, and I think you and I have the same opinion on the matter for the most part.

However, people don't get laughed at for losing a race that they shouldn't on paper....that just doesn't happen. Talking lots of shit and losing a race will get you humiliated, but I've yet to see someone get ridiculed for simply losing. For the most part, people say "anything can happen on the street."

But I race for fun...most of the people I know, just do it for fun as well. With that being the case, I have no idea why you'd want to purposely race someone you are much faster than. I advertise my mods, weight and hp, because I want a car that's pretty equal to me to run....not someone with 200 less or 200 more horsepower than me.

    Yes anything can happen.

    LOL.

That's another reason I race for fun....I don't push the car to the limit to gain another foot in the race. I lift shift, go from a roll, etc. Basically, racing my car puts about as much strain on it as merging into traffic does lol
