    When I do my engine rebuild, I am switching to Rx-8 stationary gears, and rotating hardware rated for 10,500 RPM. With my porting, I will be making peak power around 8,700 RPM and shifting around 9 or 9.5K My stock tachometer goes to 8K RPM. That's why I will run an after market tachometer.

    I thought Civic tachs went to 9,000 anyway. Also, do you mean RX-7? The RX-8 goes to 10!

    Yes it's my Rx-7. I'm putting Rx-8 stationary gears, and 1991 Series 5 lightweight rotors in the 13B block. Then porting a bit.

    And yeah, the Honda Tachometers read high, but we don't know what is under his hood.
