    Default Looking for tranny for D15 non vtec

    hey guys, a friend of mine needs to get his sol running again and he is looking for a tranny for a d15 non vtec and a wire harness. can anyone help...:-)

    try lookin at junkyards.
    and its just a straight d-series.
    a d15/d16 vtec and non vtec motors all bolt up to em.

    thanks for that... not to question you or anything like that... but for some reason i was under the impression that a vtec tranny would not work right with a non v engine? but will definately check that out... thanks for your help....:-)

    people use ls tranny's with gsr/ ls/vtec's all the time.

    just can't do like a b-series motor with a d- series tranny without getting a conversion kit for it first. mostly see h-to-b setups though.

    Thanks...:-) i have to admit... i know nothing about tranny's... do you by some chance know some model numbers for ones i can use withis this engine so that when i start looking... I know what i need to look for?

    any sohc civic tranny will work 92-2000, the vtec tranny will have shorter gears ( ex and si )

    S20 and S40

    s20 92-95. s40 is 96-00

    92-95 have cast aluminum shift forks, 96-00 trannys have steel shift forks

    other then that they are the same ...

    all d series fit d series b series with b series so on and so forth they all bolt up if u have the same series 5 spd or auto
