Default WTB: 1st or 2nd gen Civic

Looking for a Civic like either of these two generations. '73 to '83. I will consider Accords/Preludes from the same era but really want a Civic. Need something thats a daily driver or can be made into a daily driver with minimal work.

    I have $1500 to spend.

No luck on E-bay and Autotrader only goes back to 1982 (at least on their website).

    Nothing on Craigslist either.

Quick search, so don't expect it to be perfect, it just popped up this site that should be of some use. Autotrader had nothing in the classic section and only two Civic's in the '81 - '83 parameters. I'll be of better use when my mouse gets recharged, I was that dummy that bought a rechargeable mouse instead of using AAA batteries, Doh!

Found this one on Autotrader, but its out of my price range by about 1k. I might call and see if they will take $1500 cash though.

I found a few minitrucks that look promising. Still holding out for another Civic 1200 though.

At one time in my life I had 3 of these cars. Should have never let them go.

Bugman has a 1st gen too?

I am hoping I can find something local and running by next Friday. My project '62 Ford is down with steering and transmission trouble and I'm borrowing a car right now. My taxes should come back Tuesday and then I get paid next Friday.

    Hey Junior

Do you have pics of the civic that was hit in the rear? If the damage isn't too bad I might still be interested.

I saw a nice 1500 CVCC on the first gen forum but the guy was in CA and I'd pay as much for shipping as I'd pay for the car

It's worth it to pay the 4 - 500 to get a car shipped from the west to GA. That's a SMALL price to pay trust me. My 1st gen is the koolest car I have ever owned.

If only I could get it done for 400 or 500 I'd be all over it. The quotes I have been getting are like 800 or so. Do you know of any companies that will ship cross country for less?

I ended up buying an '84 Mazda B2000. Same thing as a Ford Courier.

The floors and the body are solid and the truck is mostly straight except for the hood (which is fucked) and the roof (which is not too bad). And it was originally white but it's had a crappy Maaco/Earl Schieb re-spray in burgundy. Which clashes hard with the blue interior, lol.

I bought the truck telling myself I wouldn't be making it into a project, but I'm having dirty thoughts about a swap. There are plenty of them with Rotary swaps on the Mazda froums, and a few with the SVO/Turbo Coupe motors. I think it might be cool to do one of the DOHC Miata motors, or a Zetec or Duratec. The Duratecs are easily found at Pull-A-Part and supposedly they can be built to make impressive power. The truck is a body-on-frame (not unibody) so mounting an engine should be pretty easy.
