All I need is a d16a1, or compatible block that will bolt into my first gen teg with my head and trans. If thats the case, I'm interested. Not sure if I want to deal with the one that knocked, because thats what mine did - and I spun a main bearing, trashing the block.

You need to specify whether you want a block to build or a complete bottom end. BIG difference in the two. If you have a main bearing go bad the block is still good you just might need new bearings, spacers, and possibly a crankshaft if it chewed into it. Unless you slung a rod into the block the block itself will still be good.
