The only reason the first one is funny, is that the telemarketer tries to still sell him the cemetery plots when the soon-to-commit suicide Tom Mabe is talking business. I mean, yeah the joke was kind of fucked up, the the telemarketer getting fooled is even worse, and that's what makes it so funny!
