    real to my knowledge. happened along time ago. Thats one of the reasons the harrier is being replaced

    Not a long time ago. About 6 years. It was an official air show at the beach. RAF Harrier. It crashed on August 2, 2002 at Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival, UK. The cause was pilot error as detailed in the accident investigation report. "The inquiry concluded that the accident was caused by the failure to select the nozzle control lever to the "Hover Stop" following an inadvertent nozzle lever movement."

    It was at a festival... Its ether a harrier or an F4 phantom they both have been out of commision for a while now. Still around but, not used in modern warfare.
